With the blockchain industry at fever pitch, a merry-go-round of puffed up conferences has left Jonathan G. Blanco<\/a>\u00a0thirsting for a different formula. Speaking to CryptoSlate, the Token Forum founder and blockchain entrepreneur explained why the recipe for his upcoming conference catered to a more selective palate.<\/p>\n

Kicking off Nov. 9 on the top level of Seattle\u2019s Columbia Tower Club on the 76th floor, the second-ever Token Forum will once more look to cultivate blockchain\u2019s most intimate networking environment in the unassuming tech stronghold of the Pacific Northwest.<\/p>\n

Strictly No Hype<\/h2>\n

When it comes to conferences, Gagliardoni would seem to have attended his fair share of thinly-veiled shilling extravaganzas.<\/p>\n

Yet the Seattle local, who also juggles his position as CPO and co-founder of decentralized loyalty startup EVERY, explained that the Token Forum was in some ways born out of his \u201ctiredness\u201d of all the \u201chype\u201d.<\/p>\n

It shouldn\u2019t raise eyebrows that the Token Forum maintains a strict, \u2018no plugging one\u2019s products\u2019 policy at all times with the whole act being \u201cless than 10 percent\u201d about companies\u201d, Gagliardoni assured.<\/p>\n

Presumably, such sterility is a prerequisite to achieving the forum\u2019s ultimate mission\u2014to build a breeding ground for the industry\u2019s most elite networking opportunities\u2014one that weighs minds over marketing.<\/p>\n

This approach apparently went down like a house on fire at August\u2019s inaugural conference, with the \u201cblockchain-fluent\u201d characters the forum is pitched at likely having sat through their fair share of corporate ballroom affairs with obligatory \u201cnetworking breaks\u201d where one breaks the ice over house-brewed coffee and predicted fruit platters.<\/p>\n
