The company confirmed the partnership on Twitter on Nov. 2, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LedgerHQ\/status\/1058282765026762752?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1058282765026762752&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fcoingape.com%2Fledger-nano-s-announces-support-iota%2F\">saying<\/a> that the IOTA application has been developed by the IOTA community and is now available to download on Ledger Live.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20181102005155\/en\/IOTA-Foundation-Announces-Integration-Ledger-Hardware-Wallet\">According to<\/a> IOTA's press release, the <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/products\/ledger-nano-s\/\">Ledger Nano S hardware wallet<\/a> will enable users to protect the private keys giving access to their IOTA tokens in a state-of-the-art secure chip.<\/p>\n<p>Eric Larchev\u00eaque, CEO of Ledger said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cProviding the highest level of security and quality is a major focus at both Ledger and IOTA\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He added that the collaboration between the companies will be focused on developing a compatibility feature allowing users to access, store and manage IOTA tokens on Ledger devices.<\/p>\n<h2>Ledger's Operating System is Tamper-Resistant<\/h2>\n<p>Ledger wallets are built with a distinctive operating system (OS) called BOLOS, which is integrated into a secure chip \u2013 the same one used for credit cards and passports.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ledger.fr\/2018\/11\/02\/iota-foundation-integration-with-ledger-hardware-wallet-for-secure-storage-of-iota-tokens\/\">According to<\/a> Ledger, the combination of the chip and the OS creates a tamper-resistant platform capable of securely hosting applications and data.<\/p>\n<p>David S\u00f8nsteb\u00f8, co-chair and co-founder of IOTA Foundation, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;At IOTA, we made a commitment to delivering the safest and most usable standalone cryptocurrency wallet.
