{"id":79730,"date":"2018-08-30T08:00:43","date_gmt":"2018-08-30T15:00:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/?p=79730"},"modified":"2019-11-07T02:31:25","modified_gmt":"2019-11-07T02:31:25","slug":"tron-foundation-debuts-tron-virtual-machine-for-dapp-developers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/tron-foundation-debuts-tron-virtual-machine-for-dapp-developers\/","title":{"rendered":"Tron Foundation Debuts Tron Virtual Machine For dApp Developers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a move to bolster adoption of dApps on its network, <a href=\"http:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/tron\">Tron<\/a> has launched its new Tron Virtual Machine, as well as a suite of smart contract development tools, to meet evolving developer needs.<\/p>\n<h2>What Will the TVM Entail?<\/h2>\n<p>While a large sum of decentralized applications (dApps) are using the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) as their platform of choice, developer feedback has revealed that platforms like Ethereum are no longer able to meet expected needs, according to Tron Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>However, in a move to further blockchain technology adoption, and as a response to growing developer desires, Tron has launched its new Tron Virtual Machine.<\/p>\n<p>For the uninitiated, a virtual machine is a tool that allows developers to write programs, known as \u201csmart contracts,\u201d that run on every Tron network node. By utilizing these smart contracts on a VM, developers can build their own dApps.<\/p>\n<p>The new TVM, meanwhile, will allow developers who have built dApps on the EVM to migrate to a protocol that \u201csupport their needs with optimized speed, lower cost and higher scalability.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the launch, Marcus Zhao, head of tech at Tron, stated:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe are very excited to release the mainnet version of TVM. This technology will empower developers to build better applications, allowing more people to access blockchain technology. This significant step in Tron\u2019s development will boost the growth of our ecosystem, facilitate with expansion into more industries and reinforce our position at the leader in the blockchain and cryptocurrency industries.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>TVM will also enable the Tron network to appeal to a variety of applications and industries\u2013including gaming, social networking, content distribution and finance\u2013as well as offer more options to the network\u2019s holders.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the TVM will showcase a score of features including optimized compilers to enhance overall performance; a <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/tron-trx-achieves-2000-tps-surpasses-ethereum\/\">high-speed of 2,000 transactions per\u00a0second<\/a> and three-second block times; the ability to implement freezing, voting and trading in smart contract code; a new resource manager; a new database to support blockchain uses; the computer-programming language Java, allowing developers who built non-blockchain applications to integrate blockchain technology using the Tron network; and more.<\/p>\n<p>The TVM is now available, along with a suite of smart contract development tools.
