Where BlackRock may be eyeing expansion into the emerging asset class, CEO Larry Fink told Reuters<\/a> he fails to see \u201chuge demand for cryptocurrencies\u201d. Their underlying technology, however, may be of more value to the corporation \u2014 the financial executive adding \u201cwe are a big student of blockchain.\u201d<\/p>\n Where Fink may dispute the place of cryptocurrency in his company\u2019s portfolio, his cohort may leave him little say in the matter.<\/p>\n In a steadily institutionalizing landscape, a number of BlackRock\u2019s direct competitors have disclosed large investments into cryptocurrency \u2014 perhaps the most recent example being \u201cHedge Fund King\u201d multi-billionaire Steven Cohen, as reported July 15, 2018, by CryptoSlate<\/a>.<\/p>\n Paraphrasing Fink\u2019s comments, Anthony Pompliano pointed out that Fink may be making a multi-trillion dollar error of judgment:<\/p>\n BlackRock manages over $6 Trillion and CEO Larry Fink says clients have ZERO interest in crypto.<\/p>\n It is nearly impossible to believe 0.00% interest.<\/p>\n If they keep that attitude, BlackRock won't be the largest asset manager in the world for long.<\/p>\n — Pomp ?
