This developer venture will be ongoing throughout 2018, specifically geared toward driving the innovative development of dApps on the <a href=\"http:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/eos\">EOS blockchain<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Thank you for attending the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/EOSHackathon?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#EOSHackathon<\/a> held at Kai Tak in Hong Kong over the past weekend and congratulations once again to all winners. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/T0TLnbhtwi\">https:\/\/t.co\/T0TLnbhtwi<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; EOS (@EOS_io) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EOS_io\/status\/1006444217453854721?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 12, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The Hackathon will hold five events all around the world, with $1.5 million worth of prizes. In the first hackathon held at the iconic Kai Tak Crusie Terminal in Victoria Harbour, $144,000 of prizes were awarded to participants. The top three prize winners from each of the four hackathons will compete in the Grand Finale pitch competition in December\u00a0\u2014 location still unknown.<\/p>\n<h2>Hong Kong Competition Winners<\/h2>\n<p>The first event\u00a0\u2014 which hosted over 350 participants in more than 90 teams\u00a0\u2014 \u00a0comprised of 30 hours' consecutive programming.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Top Prizes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First Place, US $100,000 &#8211; IDPASS\u00a0(US, France, Belarus)<\/li>\n<li>Second Place, US $25,000 &#8211; Blockflare (Hong Kong, Singapore)<\/li>\n<li>Third Place, US $10,000 &#8211; Ducatur\u00a0(Europe, Russia)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Secondary Prizes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Best User Experience, US $3,000 &#8211; Warrenteas<\/li>\n<li>Best Social Impact, US $3,000 &#8211; Smart Cities Steroids<\/li>\n<li>Best Social Media Post, US $3,000 &#8211; Shabaz Ahmed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The three top prize winners all received their travel expenses paid.<\/p>\n<p>The first prizewinning team, IDPAss, seeks to offer a way to build a recoverable and fully self-controllable trust ID for over one billion citizens without identification documents.<\/p>\n<p>A member of the IDPASS team, Paul Wehner, <a href=\"https:\/\/block.one\/news\/block-one-launches-eos-global-hackathon-series-with-hong-kong-event-at-kai-tak\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe\u2019re incredibly thrilled to be a part of the EOSIO global developer community.
