{"id":52749,"date":"2018-05-16T01:33:23","date_gmt":"2018-05-16T08:33:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/?p=52749"},"modified":"2018-05-17T02:20:14","modified_gmt":"2018-05-17T09:20:14","slug":"aurora-chain-aims-for-2000-tps-in-competition-with-ethereum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/aurora-chain-aims-for-2000-tps-in-competition-with-ethereum\/","title":{"rendered":"Aurora Chain Aims for 2000 TPS In Competition with Ethereum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Announced at the &#8220;Beyond the Blocks&#8221; press conference held in Seoul, Aurora Chain is an improved smart contract platform that utilizes unique consensus mechanisms and blockchain features to create a more secure, efficient environment for decentralized application (dApp) development.<\/p>\n<h2>Intro to Aurora Chain<\/h2>\n<p>As blockchain technology becomes more normalized in China and Korea, the environment for decentralized applications (dApp) development has seen rapid growth.<\/p>\n<p>Aurora Chain, also known as project Abitchain on their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abitcoin.one\/\">website<\/a>, is the latest iteration to a smart contract platform that welcomes a variety of industry applications through its unique composition.<\/p>\n<p>Aurora Chain seeks to resolve the issues that lie with current smart contract platforms \u2013 congestion, scalability, and upgradeability \u2013 through the implementation of DPOS and BFT consensus mechanisms, along with select features that enhance its overall performance.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_52771\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-52771\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-52771\" src=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/6439442-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/6439442-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/6439442-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/6439442-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/6439442-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/6439442.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-52771\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Bo Zhang, Partner and Vice President of Aurora Chain<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) consensus mechanism increases the speed of transactions on the main chain by giving select individuals voting power to sign and confirm block transactions rather than waiting for a certain number of untrusted nodes to verify each transaction individually.<\/p>\n<p>Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT) further enhances the security and efficiency of the Aurora chain through a guaranteed verification of block transactions.<\/p>\n<h2>Three Stages of Development<\/h2>\n<p>Founder of Aurora Chain, Meijun Zhao outlined the three stages of development that the new blockchain operating system has planned in the press conference held\u00a0in Seoul, Korea:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Magnetic Field<\/strong>: The first step towards mainnet launch focuses on enhancing TPS and overall blockchain speed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Charged Particle<\/strong>:<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Aurora chain plans to go online in June\u00a02018.
