{"id":497518,"date":"2025-09-09T16:11:49","date_gmt":"2025-09-09T15:11:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/?p=497518"},"modified":"2025-09-09T16:12:07","modified_gmt":"2025-09-09T15:12:07","slug":"first-dogecoin-etf-to-launch-on-sept-11-bloomberg-analyst-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/first-dogecoin-etf-to-launch-on-sept-11-bloomberg-analyst-says\/","title":{"rendered":"First Dogecoin ETF to launch on Sept 11, Bloomberg analyst says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bloomberg analyst <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/people\/eric-balchunas\/\">Eric Balchunas<\/a> said the first US exchange-traded fund linked directly to <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/dogecoin\/\">Dogecoin<\/a> will debut Thursday, Sept. 11.<\/p>\n<p>In a Sept. 9 <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EricBalchunas\/status\/1965381497936117794\">update<\/a> on X, he said Rex-Osprey\u2019s planned DOGE ETF (ticker: DOJE) signals the start of what he described as the \u201cmemecoin ETF era.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Balchunas emphasized the fund's unusual nature, noting that it would be the first U.S. ETF designed to hold an asset \u201cwith no utility on purpose.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>DOJE ETF<\/h2>\n<p>This development comes barely a week after Rex-Osprey <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/rex-shares-shortcut-could-bring-dogecoin-etf-to-us-markets-by-next-week\/\">filed for the ETF product<\/a> with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).<\/p>\n<p>The quick turnaround can be linked to the fact that DOJE was registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940, a strategy that speeds up approval compared with the traditional 19b-4 process required for spot crypto ETFs.<\/p>\n<p>Under this approach, the fund is structured as a C-corporation that provides DOGE exposure through a Cayman Islands subsidiary.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, the same framework was used for its Staking Solana Fund (SSK), giving the firm a track record of navigating the structure.<\/p>\n<p>However, this setup often draws skepticism from some investors who cite concerns about potential double taxation.<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, this approach would allow an issuer to move quickly, while rivals might remain in the queue because they apply through the Securities Act of 1933 route.<\/p>\n<h2>DOGE treasury firm<\/h2>\n<p>The ETF development coincides with a major corporation adopting Dogecoin for its digital asset treasury initiative.<\/p>\n<p>On Sept. 8, CleanCore Solutions, Inc., a company listed on the NYSE American exchange, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globenewswire.com\/news-release\/2025\/09\/08\/3146447\/0\/en\/CleanCore-Solutions-Acquires-285-420-000-DOGE-with-Strategic-Goal-to-Accumulate-First-Milestone-Target-of-1-Billion-DOGE-in-30-Days-as-the-Newly-Launched-Official-Dogecoin-Treasury.html\">revealed<\/a> that it purchased 285.4 million DOGE valued at $68 million. This transaction made CleanCore the largest Dogecoin treasury holder to date.<\/p>\n<p>CleanCore said the purchase is the first stage in a plan to accumulate one billion DOGE within 30 days and ultimately secure 5% of the token\u2019s circulating supply.<\/p>\n<p>The Dogecoin Foundation and its corporate arm, House of Doge, backed the initiative. Their strategy positions DOGE as a digital asset for payments, tokenization projects, staking-style products, and cross-border transfers.<\/p>\n<p>To provide custody and execution for the new treasury, the House of Doge also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globenewswire.com\/news-release\/2025\/09\/09\/3146943\/0\/en\/The-Dogecoin-Foundation-s-Corporate-Arm-House-of-Doge-and-Bitstamp-by-Robinhood-Announce-Strategic-Partnership-to-Secure-and-Further-Develop-the-Official-Dogecoin-Treasury-Utility.html\">announced<\/a> a partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/bitstamp\/\">Bitstamp<\/a> USA, which now operates under <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/products\/robinhood\/\">Robinhood<\/a> (NASDAQ: HOOD).
