BlackRock\u2019s<\/a> iShares Bitcoin<\/a> Trust (IBIT<\/a>) crossed $80 billion in assets under management on July 10, becoming the fastest exchange-traded fund (ETF) to reach the threshold in 374 trading days.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas<\/a> noted on X<\/a> that IBIT outperformed the Vanguard S&P 500 ETF (VOO),<\/span> which took 1,814 days to accumulate<\/a><\/strong> the same asset base, and surpassed comparable milestones for international-equity funds IEFA (2,034 days) and IEMG (2,089 days).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The attached performance chart shows IBIT\u2019s trajectory surpassing that of its peers well before its first anniversary. At $83 billion as of late July 11, IBIT ranks as the 21st-largest ETF in the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n

Inflows surge alongside the milestone<\/span><\/h2>\n

US spot Bitcoin ETFs<\/span> attracted $1.18 billion<\/a> on July 10, the third-largest daily haul recorded for these products,<\/span> according<\/a><\/strong> to CoinShares<\/a> head of research James Butterfill.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Farside Investors<\/a> data added that IBIT<\/span> led with $448.5 million<\/a><\/strong>, followed by Fidelity\u2019s<\/a> FBTC at $324.3 million and Ark<\/a> 21Shares\u2019<\/a> ARKB<\/a> at $268.7 million.<\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, Farside data shows cumulative net inflows of $51.3 billion across the 12 US spot Bitcoin ETFs through July 11. <\/span><\/p>\n

IBIT accounts for $53.45 billion of that total, followed by FBTC with $12.62 billion, Ark 21Shares\u2019 ARKB with $3.02 billion, and Bitwise\u2019s<\/a> BITB<\/a> with $2.29 billion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

GBTC\u2019s $23.38 billion in redemptions offsets a large share of industry inflows, yet still leaves the group\u2019s net figure firmly positive.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bitbo data show that the 12 US spot Bitcoin ETFs<\/span> now hold 1.26 million BTC<\/a><\/strong>, worth approximately $149 billion, equivalent to 6% of the eventual 21 million supply.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

IBIT alone controls 706,008 BTC, roughly 56% of the cohort, valued at $83 billion. Fidelity\u2019s FBTC<\/a> sits a distant second at $24.4 billion, while Grayscale\u2019s<\/a> GBTC<\/a> retains $21.7 billion after months of redemptions.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
