It also aims to maintain lean corporate overhead to enhance efficiency.<\/p>\n<p>To support this transition, Bluebird confirmed it is searching for a new CEO with expertise in digital assets.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1099\" data-end=\"1456\">Meanwhile, Aidan Bishop, the firm\u2019s interim CEO, said the strategy is a response to significant shifts in global finance. He described Bitcoin as a transformative force and emphasized the potential of combining traditional and digital stores of value.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1099\" data-end=\"1456\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">According to Google Finance <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/finance\/quote\/BMV:LON?sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiO4qzFhtqNAxUQ_7sIHfREJqcQ3ecFegQIKxAb\">data<\/a>, the company\u2019s share price rose by approximately 60% to 0.39 after the announce<\/span>ment.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1099\" data-end=\"1456\">Why the gold miner is turning to Bitcoin<\/h2>\n<p>In a Share Talk <a href=\"https:\/\/www.share-talk.com\/bluebird-mining-ventures-ltd-lonbmv-strategic-update\/\">report<\/a>, Bluebird acknowledged gold\u2019s longstanding role as a store of value, citing its industrial applications and global demand from central banks.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, it noted that Bitcoin is increasingly seen as a superior alternative due to its digital nature and limited supply.<\/p>\n<p>According to the firm:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Golds\u2019 position as a store of value has been under threat due to the rising global adoption of bitcoin, which some commentators have described as \u2018digital gold\u2019 and many have even cited its superiority over gold as a store of value.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Bluebird also cited growing concerns over inflation, high debt levels, and geopolitical risk as key drivers behind Bitcoin\u2019s rise. These factors have pushed several <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/spanish-coffee-chain-vanadi-seeks-financial-jolt-with-e1-billion-bitcoin-gamble\/\">companies to hold the bellwether asset in their treasuries.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In return, many of these firms have enjoyed <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/metaplanet-issues-another-21m-in-bonds-to-fuel-bitcoin-purchases\/\">heightened investor attention and substantial premiums<\/a> over traditional asset valuations.<\/p>\n<p>Bluebird sees an opportunity to set itself apart by entering the digital asset space.
