{"id":477285,"date":"2025-04-30T14:17:02","date_gmt":"2025-04-30T13:17:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/?p=477285"},"modified":"2025-04-30T14:17:02","modified_gmt":"2025-04-30T13:17:02","slug":"ton-foundation-launches-500m-telegram-rwa-bond-fund-with-libre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/ton-foundation-launches-500m-telegram-rwa-bond-fund-with-libre\/","title":{"rendered":"Ton Foundation launches $500M Telegram RWA bond fund with Libre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Open Network (<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/toncoin\/\">TON<\/a>) Foundation has partnered with Libre, a decentralized infrastructure firm specializing in real-world assets (RWAs), to introduce a $500 million tokenized bond fund tied to <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/telegram\/\">Telegram<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>An April 30 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.librecapital.com\/insights\/libre-and-ton-foundation-launch-500m-telegram-bond-fund-tbf-on-ton-blockchain\">statement<\/a> stated that the Telegram Bond Fund (TBF) will offer blockchain-based access to institutional-grade yield opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>The TBF signals TON's official entry into the growing <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/cryptos\/real-world-assets\/\">RWA sector<\/a> and aligns it with other prominent networks that <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/australian-lender-anz-partners-with-chainlink-to-explore-rwa-tokenization\/\">support real-world asset tokenization<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Telegram Bond Fund<\/h2>\n<p>The TBF brings a portion of <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/telegrams-exclusivity-deal-with-ton-sparks-developer-backlash\/\">Telegram's<\/a> $2.35 billion outstanding bonds onto the TON blockchain, allowing institutional and accredited investors to engage with traditional financial products through a decentralized format.<\/p>\n<p>The fund aims to support Telegram's current and future bond offerings, offering compliant on-chain exposure through a trusted RWA platform.<\/p>\n<p>Libre stated that its infrastructure allows investors to use the tokenized bonds as collateral within the DeFi ecosystem. It also allows developers on TON to build new yield-bearing products backed by these assets.<\/p>\n<p>Max Crown, CEO of TON Foundation, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Libre\u2019s infrastructure bridges the gap between compliance and decentralization, unlocking powerful new opportunities for TON's community to engage with RWAs in a secure and accessible way.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Libre gateway system<\/h2>\n<p>Meanwhile, Libre plans to roll out a multi-phase Gateway system on TON.<\/p>\n<p>This infrastructure will manage subscriptions, redemptions, and the transfer of tokenized funds while staying within regulatory bounds. Investors can subscribe using fiat or stablecoins and manage their portfolios directly through TON-native wallets.<\/p>\n<p>Jez Mohideen, Chairman of Libre, explained that the firm's decision is based on the fact that TON offers a unique opportunity to bridge TradFi and DeFi [while expanding] the reach of <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/aave-unveils-horizon-merging-real-world-assets-with-defi\/\">regulated RWAs<\/a> to a global and digitally native user base.<\/p>\n<p>He added:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;This collaboration brings together omni-chain institutional-grade infrastructure and mass-market blockchain usability, with sought-after TradFi assets that have a strong crypto alignment.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Libre has already tokenized over $200 million in assets and offers several live products from major issuers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/app.rwa.xyz\/assets\/UMA\">Data<\/a> from RWA.xyz shows that Libre's UMA fund, which invests in BlackRock's ICS US Dollar Liquidity Fund, holds $21.8 million.
