He added that any association with Monopoly was &#8220;hearsay.&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A representative for Hasbro, the publisher of Monopoly, stated that the company has not licensed its intellectual property to any Trump-affiliated crypto project.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 1989, Trump released \u201cTrump: The Game,\u201d a real estate-themed board game with mechanics similar to Monopoly.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to one source, Zanker contacted Hasbro in May 2024 to explore reacquiring rights to that title but was told the company no longer held them. According to both sources, the new crypto game has been in development since before Trump\u2019s inauguration.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Latest crypto foray<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zanker has played a key role in the Trump family\u2019s foray into digital assets, beginning with the launch of a series of Trump-themed non-fungible tokens (NFTs).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These included illustrations of Trump as various characters, such as a superhero and an astronaut. Zanker is also connected to the formation of \u201cFIGHT FIGHT FIGHT LLC,\u201d an entity associated with the Trump-branded memecoin (<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/official-trump\/\">TRUMP<\/a>), and was instrumental in bringing those digital collectibles to market.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The upcoming crypto game joins other blockchain initiatives that Trump and his family supported. These include a<\/span> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/world-liberty-financial-releases-usd1-stablecoin-plans-to-ease-pressure-from-scam-clones\/\">stablecoin effort<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a DeFi venture called<\/span> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/trump-familys-upcoming-defi-project-aims-to-cement-us-dollar-dominance-via-stablecoin-revolution\/\">World Liberty Financial<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and an<\/span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/trump-family-enters-bitcoin-mining-industry-with-american-bitcoins-20-hut8-stake\/\"> investment<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the Bitcoin (<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/bitcoin\/\">BTC<\/a>) mining company Hut 8 from Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Public filings show that DTTM Operations, the entity responsible for Trump\u2019s trademarks, has also applied to extend Trump\u2019s name to various virtual products and NFT-related services.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mercuri declined to comment on the game\u2019s timeline or whether these trademark applications are directly related to the project.
