It will further enable the development of innovative digital products, services, and new business models, while reducing cost and increasing access to international markets.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2083\" data-end=\"2276\">This move represents a significant step forward in the <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/ripples-becomes-first-blockchain-to-acquire-dubai-regulatory-approval-for-cross-border-payment\/\">UAE\u2019s broader digital transformation strategy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Digital Dirham design<\/h2>\n<p>The UAE has also introduced updated symbols for its national currency to align with its growing focus on digital finance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"752\" data-end=\"1155\">The new symbol for the physical Dirham features a bold capital \u201cD\u201d crossed by two horizontal lines. These lines represent the country\u2019s vision for economic stability and growth. The design takes cues from the national flag, reinforcing the UAE\u2019s confidence in its financial future. For the digital version, a circular frame in the UAE flag\u2019s colors surrounds the &#8220;D&#8221; symbol.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1157\" data-end=\"1365\">The design is intended to reflect the country\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/tax-free-crypto-transactions-coming-to-uae-in-november-to-push-digital-ambition\/\">ambition to lead in blockchain innovation<\/a> and digital financial services.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1625\" data-end=\"1876\">Balama described the updated branding as a signal of progress and a key part of the country\u2019s digital agenda. He emphasized that the Digital Dirham will improve financial resilience, inclusion, and regulatory oversight while enabling the development of new products and services.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2083\" data-end=\"2276\">Meanwhile, this announcement follows the CBUAE\u2019s recent membership in the Global Foreign Exchange Committee.
