The platform will facilitate transactions in key commodities like crude oil and copper while leveraging USDT for seamless settlements.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"459\" data-end=\"715\">According to Tether's <a href=\"https:\/\/tether.io\/finance\/\">website<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"459\" data-end=\"715\">&#8220;Backed by blockchain technology, we\u2019re streamlining trade flows, reducing costs, and driving financial inclusivity across industries and borders.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"459\" data-end=\"715\">TradeFi's launch <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/tethers-trade-finance-division-funds-first-oil-deal-via-usdt\/\">follows Tether's first crude oil transaction<\/a> last November. The company financed a $45 million deal in the Middle East, covering 670,000 barrels of oil.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"459\" data-end=\"715\">While details of the firms involved were not disclosed, Ardoino described it as the first step in a broader strategy to support more commodities and industries.<\/p>\n<h2>Tether investment expansion<\/h2>\n<p>This move comes as Tether has been expanding its business focus beyond stablecoins, making strategic investments in diverse sectors.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past year, the company has transitioned from being a stablecoin issuer to a stakeholder in multiple sectors, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/tether-is-developing-several-ai-apps-and-an-open-source-sdk-platform\/\">artificial intelligence,<\/a> agriculture, and Bitcoin mining.<\/p>\n<p>These efforts resulted in the firm investing in <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/tether-scores-minority-stake-in-juventus-aims-to-integrate-blockchain-with-sports\/\">Juventus, an Italian football club,<\/a> and a proposal to acquire a<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/tether-bids-for-control-of-south-american-1-million-mwh-renewable-energy-company-adecoagro\/\"> 51% stake in Adecoagro SA (AGRO)<\/a>, a NASDAQ-listed agribusiness firm.<\/p>\n<p>A Tether spokesperson told <em>CryptoSlate<\/em> that these moves align with the firm's broader strategy of diversifying investments beyond digital assets into tangible, long-term value sectors.<\/p>\n<p>Despite this broader focus, Tether continues to dominate the stablecoin market.
