{"id":465544,"date":"2025-02-14T16:55:22","date_gmt":"2025-02-14T16:55:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/?p=465544"},"modified":"2025-12-13T01:00:12","modified_gmt":"2025-12-13T01:00:12","slug":"bybit-removed-from-amf-blacklist-eyes-mica-compliance-for-eu-growth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/bybit-removed-from-amf-blacklist-eyes-mica-compliance-for-eu-growth\/","title":{"rendered":"Bybit removed from AMF blacklist, eyes MiCA compliance for EU growth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/bybit\/\">Bybit<\/a> CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/people\/ben-zhou\/\">Ben Zhou<\/a> has confirmed that the crypto exchange is no longer on the blacklist of France's financial regulator, the Autorit\u00e9 des March\u00e9s Financiers (AMF).<\/p>\n<p>This follows over two years of engagement with the regulator to address compliance concerns.<\/p>\n<p>In a Feb. 14 post on X, Zhou <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/benbybit\/status\/1890345811852116125\">said<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;After more than 2 years of working with the French regulator through multiple remediation efforts, BYBIT is now officially removed from France AMF blacklist.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Bybit faced regulatory challenges in France, leading to the <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/bybit-to-exit-france-amid-regulatory-hurdles-hopes-for-future-return\/\">suspension of its operations<\/a> in the country in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, the <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/bybit-faces-potential-legal-action-in-france-for-regulatory-non-compliance\/\">AMF warned investors<\/a> that the platform was not registered and even considered legal action due to its non-compliance.<\/p>\n<h2>MiCA compliance<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"470\" data-end=\"897\">Following its removal from the blacklist, Bybit is now working toward securing a Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/crypto-com-becomes-first-exchange-to-secure-mica-license-for-eu-operations\/\">MiCA<\/a>) license for operations in the European Union.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"470\" data-end=\"897\">MiCA, which took effect this year, is the region's first comprehensive crypto regulatory framework.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"470\" data-end=\"897\">It establishes unified rules for crypto businesses, enhancing consumer protection, preventing market manipulation, and ensuring regulatory compliance.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"899\" data-end=\"1132\">Several major crypto firms, including <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/crypto-com\/\">Crypto.com,<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/coinbase\/\">Coinbase<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/gemini\/\">Gemini<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/moonpay-approved-under-mica-to-operate-in-the-eu\/\">MoonPay<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/kraken\/\">Kraken<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/okx\/\">OKX<\/a>, have <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/gemini-joins-europes-crypto-race-with-maltas-regulatory-approval\/\">obtained the necessary licenses<\/a> to continue serving European users.<\/p>\n<h2>Adapting to institutional demand<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1247\" data-end=\"1562\">Meanwhile, Bybit is also restructuring its trading services by migrating its Options platform to Tether's <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/tether\/\">USDT<\/a>.
