The company's informed price of $93,812 puts its Bitcoin stash at 83,758 BTC.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meanwhile, the firm's profits increased by $5.3 billion in the fourth quarter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the assurance opinion conducted by global accounting firm BDO, the company\u2019s gold and Bitcoin holdings generated approximately $5 billion in unrealized profits.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tether's exposure to US Treasuries reached $113 billion in 2024, and the firm's net profits increased $5.3 billion in the fourth quarter, exceeding $13 billion for the year. The firm\u2019s excess reserve buffer exceeded $7 billion, reflecting a 36% annual increase.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Treasury holdings and repo agreements contributed $7 billion, while other traditional investments added another $1 billion.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additionally, group equity surpassed $20 billion through investments of over $12 billion in renewable energy, Bitcoin mining, artificial intelligence, telecommunications, and education.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Total assets<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tether reported total consolidated assets of $157.6 billion and total liabilities of $137.6 billion. The reserves for issued Tether tokens amounted to $143.7 billion, exceeding liabilities related to token issuance by over $7 billion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The company noted that its proprietary investments are not included in the reserves backing the tokens.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tether CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/people\/paolo-ardoino\/\">Paolo Ardoino<\/a> said the company &#8220;continues to set the gold standard for stability and trust in the digital assets space&#8221; and also highlighted the Digital Asset Service Provider (DASP) license<\/span> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/tether-to-relocate-global-headquarters-to-bitcoin-friendly-el-salvador\/\">recently secured in El Salvador<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The move is a part of Tether's plans to move its headquarters to the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a Jan. 31 X post,<\/span> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/paoloardoino\/status\/1885345499600781421\">he said<\/a> <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that Tether invested in talent for key areas while maintaining its lean workforce.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ardoino also shared that Tether will launch &#8220;several more products&#8221; in the following months, including artificial intelligence platforms, telecommunications-focused applications, new financial tools, and educational services.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>$45 billion in USDT<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2024, Tether issued over $45 billion of its <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/tether\/\">USDT<\/a> stablecoin, with $23 billion in the fourth quarter alone. Ardoino stated that USDT reached 400 million users worldwide last year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Artemis data, USDT\u2019s total supply was nearly $143 billion as of Jan. 31, representing 66.4% of the stablecoin total supply.
