{"id":463668,"date":"2025-01-30T16:40:48","date_gmt":"2025-01-30T16:40:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/?p=463668"},"modified":"2025-01-30T15:44:52","modified_gmt":"2025-01-30T15:44:52","slug":"tether-answers-to-mica-compliance-hurdles-with-hadron-and-quantoz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/tether-answers-to-mica-compliance-hurdles-with-hadron-and-quantoz\/","title":{"rendered":"Tether answers to MiCA compliance hurdles with Hadron and Quantoz"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/tether\/\">Tether<\/a> is touting its tokenization platform Hadron and its investment in <a href=\"https:\/\/quantoz.com\/\">Quantoz<\/a> as part of its European strategy amid regulatory pressures that have led to <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/tether\/\">USDT<\/a> delistings under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement to <em>CryptoSlate<\/em> on Jan. 30, Tether confirmed its commitment to pushing <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/tether-launches-tokenization-platform-called-hadron-for-institutions-governments\/\">Hadron<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/tether-invests-in-dutch-firm-to-launch-mica-compliant-stablecoins\/\">Quantoz<\/a> while finalizing its USDT strategy for the European market.<\/p>\n<p>Hadron serves as a tokenization platform, enabling the creation of digital assets, including stocks, bonds, stablecoins, and loyalty rewards. Meanwhile, Quantoz, a Dutch company Tether invested in 2024, has launched two MiCA-compliant stablecoins, EURQ and USDQ.<\/p>\n<p>Tether stated that these efforts reaffirm its focus on regulatory compliance while continuing to innovate. However, the firm is also focused on ensuring that USDT remains an important financial tool for global users despite shifting market conditions in Europe.<\/p>\n<h2>USDT delisting in Europe<\/h2>\n<p>Tether's statement comes amid growing concerns over the rapid removal of USDT from European exchanges due to MiCA regulations.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/crypto-com\/\">Crypto.com<\/a> recently announced that it would <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/crypto-com-to-delist-usdt-and-other-tokens-to-comply-with-mica\/\">delist USDT<\/a> and nine other non-compliant tokens by Jan. 31. This follows Coinbase's <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coinbases-mica-alignment-in-europe-to-delist-major-stablecoins-like-tethers-usdt\/\">decision to remove USDT<\/a> from its European platform last year.<\/p>\n<p>Tether criticized the pace of these actions, arguing that they lack proper justification and could disrupt the market. It pointed out that multiple tokens\u2014not just USDT\u2014are affected, making the situation more complex than it appears.<\/p>\n<p>It wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;It is disappointing to see the rushed actions brought on by statements which do little to clarify the basis for such moves. These changes affect many tokens in the EU market, not only USDt, and we fear that such actions will lead to further risk being placed on consumers in the EU, creating a &#8216;disorderly' market.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Tether also raised concerns that these regulatory changes could introduce new consumer risks by creating market instability.
