To handle this surge, it plans to scale its transaction efficiency by increasing blockspace capacity to 250 million gas units per second.<\/p>\n<p>Lead developer Jesse Pollak explained that these efforts align with its broader strategy to expand its ecosystem and accommodate rising demand.<\/p>\n<p>He added on social media platform X that these goals are critical for positioning Base as a leader in the blockchain space while <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/jessepollak\/status\/1880026249663508911\">remarking<\/a> that:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;2025 is our year&#8230;the year we build together.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The network's vision focuses on five core priorities. These include providing advanced tools for developers, fostering innovation in decentralized applications, and streamlining user experiences.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Base also aims to enhance global liquidity and upgrade its infrastructure for better scalability and performance.<\/p>\n<h2>Base's growth<\/h2>\n<p>The ambitious plans are unsurprising, considering <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coinbases-base-network-surpasses-1-million-daily-active-addresses-outpaces-competitors\/\">Base has rapidly grown<\/a> into one of the most influential Ethereum layer-2 solutions since its launch in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The network has outpaced competitors like <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/optimism\/\">Optimism<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/arbitrum\/\">Arbitrum<\/a>, with <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/tokenterminal\/status\/1879686338628436017\">data<\/a> from Token Terminal showing it as the most widely adopted layer-2 solution based on monthly transaction counts.<\/p>\n<p>Market observers noted that Base's connection with Coinbase provides a solid foundation for the platform's growth.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/coinbase\/\">Coinbase<\/a>, the largest crypto exchange in the United States, has launched several products, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coinbase-partners-with-morpho-to-introduce-bitcoin-backed-loans-on-base\/\">Bitcoin-backed loans<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coinbases-cbbtc-launches-seeking-defi-boom-on-base-and-ethereum\/\">Bitcoin-wrapped assets<\/a>, on the Ethereum layer-2 solution, further strengthening its ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Base's innovative <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/chainlink-tools-now-power-millions-of-transactions-on-base-network\/\">approach<\/a> to infrastructure design has helped it address critical challenges in blockchain scalability.<\/p>\n<p>Despite its success, Base has no plans to introduce a native token. Instead, Pollak said the network is focused on creating tools that empower developers to innovate and address real-world needs.<\/p>\n<p>He <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/jessepollak\/status\/1862905802564203003\">said<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;There are no plans for a Base network token.
