However, it did not specify the timeline or which ones it intends to add first.<\/p>\n<p>PostFinance first entered the crypto market in April 2023 through a partnership with Sygnum Bank, offering trading and custody services to its 2.5 million customers. The bank broadened its offerings in early 2024 by enabling users to trade 11 digital currencies and set up crypto savings plans.<\/p>\n<p>With the addition of Ethereum staking, PostFinance is deepening its commitment to blockchain adoption. This latest move highlights the bank's efforts to merge traditional finance with emerging decentralized technologies.<\/p>\n<h2>Switzerland's growing blockchain ecosystem<\/h2>\n<p>The introduction of Ethereum staking comes amid <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/singapore-partners-with-uk-japan-and-switzerland-on-digital-asset-initiative\/\">rising interest<\/a> in digital currencies in Switzerland and other countries, <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/trump-reportedly-talking-to-ripple-with-interest-in-xrp-usdc-solana-for-us-national-reserve\/\">including the US<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In December 2024, Swiss crypto advocates initiated a campaign to hold a national referendum proposing the inclusion of Bitcoin (<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/?s=Bitcoin\">BTC<\/a>) in the Swiss National Bank's reserves. While the central bank has expressed reservations, the proposal reflects Switzerland's progressive approach to digital assets.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the Swiss canton of Bern recently approved a study to explore Bitcoin mining's role in stabilizing the electrical grid and utilizing surplus energy.
