Tether CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/people\/paolo-ardoino\/\">Paolo Ardoino<\/a> emphasized that this achievement highlights the growing importance of stablecoins in modern finance and reinforces the company's role in bridging traditional and decentralized economies.<\/p>\n<p>Ardoino added that the UAE's progressive regulatory stance sets a global benchmark, positioning USDT as a key tool in advancing the region's digital transformation and economic growth.<\/p>\n<p>In August, Tether announced plans to launch a <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/tether-expands-fiat-portfolio-with-new-uae-dirham-stablecoin\/\">Dirham-pegged stablecoin<\/a>, underlining its commitment to supporting the UAE's vision as a global economic hub.<\/p>\n<p>Tether's USDT is the <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/tether-usdt-wallets-surge-to-109-million-challenge-bitcoin-and-ethereum-user-base\/\">largest stablecoin by market cap<\/a>, controlling around 70% of the market with a supply of more than $138 billion.<\/p>\n<h2>Token disclosure standards<\/h2>\n<p>Meanwhile, the ADGM is also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adgm.com\/media\/announcements\/adgm-and-polygon-labs-join-forces-to-establish-nternational-disclosure-standards-for-the-blockchain-space\">collaborating<\/a> with <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/polygon-labs\/\">Polygon Labs<\/a> to establish a global token disclosure process for the web3 ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>This initiative aims to enhance the Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) Foundations Regulations, introduced in 2023, to streamline token issuance and support Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs).<\/p>\n<p>Hamad Al Mazrouei, CEO of the ADGM Registration Authority, stated that the token disclosure process is designed to promote transparency and strengthen trust in blockchain technologies.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the partnership with Polygon Labs aligns with ADGM's mission to solidify Abu Dhabi's status as a leading blockchain and web3 innovation hub.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/people\/sandeep-nailwal\/\">Sandeep Nailwal<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/polygon\/\">Polygon's<\/a> co-founder, stated:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;We\u2019re not only establishing new benchmarks for transparency and disclosure but also creating a foundation for trust that allows users, developers, and institutions worldwide to engage with blockchain systems confidently.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tether&#8217;s USDT stablecoin has been approved as an Accepted Virtual Asset (AVA) by the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), according to a Dec. 10 statement.
