Winklevoss\u2019 post comes a day after he <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/winklevoss-slams-harris-for-not-showing-up-to-virtual-roundtable\/\">slammed Harris<\/a> for not attending the roundtable discussion with crypto leaders on Aug 8.<\/p>\n<p>In the post, Winklevoss highlighted and criticized the U.S. Federal Reserve\u2019s enforcement action against Customers Bank, a crypto-friendly bank. The Federal Reserve issued a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalreserve.gov\/newsevents\/pressreleases\/files\/enf20240808a1.pdf\">13-page enforcement action<\/a> against Customers Bank on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>According to the enforcement action, Customers Bank must give the Federal Reserve thirty days of written notice before entering into a new banking relationship with crypto firms.<\/p>\n<p>Winklevoss wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cToday, the Fed confirmed that Operation Choke Point 2.0 remains in full swing, provided valuable insight into how it works, and verified that the Harris crypto &#8220;reset&#8221; is a scam.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Since Customers Bank is one of the only crypto-friendly banks in the U.S., Winklevoss believes that the enforcement action would essentially create a choke point. This is because the enforcement action makes the Federal Reserve a \u201cdirect gatekeeper standing between crypto companies and their ability to get a new bank account.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Winklevoss argued that, \u201cThis is not how principles-based regulation is supposed to work.\u201d According to him, banks should have the autonomy to decide who they serve. The decision should be \u201cdecentralized across the entire banking industry,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>He added:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cNow, this decision has been centralized by the Fed and will be made by the Fed at its sole discretion. The Choke Point has been created.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Allegations made without proof, says Winklevoss<\/h2>\n<p>According to the enforcement action, the Federal Reserve \u201cidentified significant deficiencies related to the Bank\u2019s risk management practices and compliance with the applicable laws, rules, and regulations relating to anti-money laundering (AML).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, Winklevoss called the accusations \u201cnon-allegation allegations\u201d that are \u201chand-wavy and vague.\u201d According to him, it is \u201centirely unclear\u201d why the Federal Reserve brought the enforcement action against Customers Bank.<\/p>\n<p>Winklevoss further claimed that the Federal Reserve\u2019s allegations were not backed up by proof. He wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cNot a single fact or tangible finding, however, is provided to back up this claim. The public must take the Fed's words for it. Trust us they say. How convenient.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Furthermore, Winklevoss believes that the Federal Reserve has a sinister motive behind bringing the enforcement action.
