{"id":434581,"date":"2024-07-23T17:58:41","date_gmt":"2024-07-23T16:58:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/?p=434581"},"modified":"2024-07-23T17:58:41","modified_gmt":"2024-07-23T16:58:41","slug":"ethereum-etfs-soar-with-361-million-volume-in-first-90-minutes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/ethereum-etfs-soar-with-361-million-volume-in-first-90-minutes\/","title":{"rendered":"Ethereum ETFs soar with $361 million volume in first 90 minutes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Spot <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/ethereum\/\">Ethereum<\/a> exchange-traded funds (ETFs) <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/ethereum-etfs-pre-market-trading-begins-all-set-for-official-debut-at-market-open\/\">debuted to robust investor interest<\/a> within the first 90 minutes of trading, amassing a total volume of $361 million across the nine newly launched ETFs.<\/p>\n<p>Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas shared the <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EricBalchunas\/status\/1815767604453138738\">initial data<\/a> on social media and noted that the impressive start ranks these ETFs among the top 1% in overall ETF volume, comparable to well-established funds such as TLT and EEM.<\/p>\n<p>Leading the pack, <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/grayscale-investments\/\">Grayscale's<\/a> ETHE reported the highest volume at $147.8 million, followed by <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/blackrock\/\">BlackRock's<\/a> ETHA with $71.4 million and <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/bitwise\/\">Bitwise's<\/a> ETHW at $50.4 million. <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/fidelity-investments\/\">Fidelity's<\/a> FETH also saw significant activity \u2014 recording $49.3 million in volume.<\/p>\n<p>The other ETFs that contributed to the remarkable 90-minute total include Grayscale's ETH with $18.4 million, <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/vaneck\/\">VanEck\u2019s<\/a> ETHV with $9.3 million, <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/franklin-templeton\/\">Franklin Templeton's<\/a> EZET with $8.5 million; Invesco's QETH with $4.0 million and <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/21shares\/\">21Shares'<\/a> CETH with $2.0 million.<\/p>\n<p>These figures highlight the strong demand for Ethereum-based investment vehicles, far surpassing the typical volume for new ETF launches, which often struggle to exceed $1 million on their first day.<\/p>\n<p>According to Balchunas:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAs a group, that number [$361 million] would rank them about 15th overall in ETF volume. Compared to a normal ETF launch, which rarely sees more than $1 million on Day One, all of them have cleared that number and then some.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Earlier, Balchunas had reported that within the first 15 minutes of trading, Ethereum ETFs had already amassed $112 million in volume. This initial surge, while impressive, was about half the volume pace of <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/insights\/bitcoin-etfs-see-almost-1-billion-in-inflows-since-friday-ahead-of-ethereum-etf-launches\/\">Bitcoin ETFs<\/a> on their first day.<\/p>\n<p>Balchunas noted that Ethereum ETFs are performing at about 20% to 25% of the volume recorded by Bitcoin ETFs when accounting for Grayscale outflow, which still represents a very solid showing and is in line with his previous projections.<\/p>\n<p>The successful initial trading of these Ethereum ETFs reflects growing investor interest in digital assets and their integration into mainstream financial products.
