{"id":41168,"date":"2018-04-01T19:57:46","date_gmt":"2018-04-02T02:57:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/?p=41168"},"modified":"2019-11-07T02:56:15","modified_gmt":"2019-11-07T02:56:15","slug":"bitcoin-lightning-network-nodes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/bitcoin-lightning-network-nodes\/","title":{"rendered":"Bitcoin Lightning Network Reaches Record Node Count"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Amidst all of the <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/cryptocurrency-bloodbath-continues-monster-rally-looms-horizon\/\">gloom<\/a> that currently surrounds the crypto market, <a href=\"https:\/\/1ml.com\/statistics\">latest market data<\/a> has revealed that Bitcoin\u2019s Lightning Network now possesses a capacity of more than 10 BTC.<\/p>\n<p>Since the launch of its\u00a0testnet in December 2017, the Lightning Network has been growing steadily, and the node count has increased progressively from 29 nodes in January to <a href=\"https:\/\/1ml.com\">over 1,500 active nodes<\/a> on the 1st of April, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The Lightning network beta was launched on the mainnet on March 15.<\/p>\n<p>As things currently stand, \u00a0Lightning now possesses a higher node count than <a href=\"http:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/bitcoin-cash\">Bitcoin Cash<\/a>, which is quite impressive considering it has only been around for a little over two weeks on the mainnet.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Lightning Network node count has exceeded Bcash node count.
