{"id":39971,"date":"2018-03-27T19:32:31","date_gmt":"2018-03-28T02:32:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/?p=39971"},"modified":"2020-03-24T06:55:30","modified_gmt":"2020-03-24T06:55:30","slug":"german-tourism-crypto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/german-tourism-crypto\/","title":{"rendered":"German Tourism Board Allows Crypto Payments For Its Services"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a move to promote innovation within an otherwise low-lying industry, the German National Tourism Board (GNTB) has recently announced the incorporation of crypto assets into its framework for regular service payments.<\/p>\n<p>The GNTB <a href=\"http:\/\/www.germany.travel\/en\/germany\/about-us\/the-gntb\/the-gntb.html\">announced<\/a> that travelers, both local and international, now have full freedom to pay for their sojourns in Bitcoin and other popular cryptocurrencies through any of their 32 offices spread across the globe.<\/p>\n<h3>While this move in itself is quite radical, the GNTB has further announced the implementation of various blockchain technologies to streamline its governance as part of its \u201cmedium term\u201d plan.<\/h3>\n<p>Petra Hedorfer, Chairman of the Tourism Board, further <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breakingtravelnews.com\/news\/article\/germany-sees-record-international-visitor-figures-for-eighth-consecutive-ye\/\">added<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe have further expanded our leading position as a business travel destination, as a trade fair location and as a convention destination.
