{"id":382398,"date":"2023-12-22T01:51:20","date_gmt":"2023-12-22T01:51:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/?p=382398"},"modified":"2023-12-22T01:51:20","modified_gmt":"2023-12-22T01:51:20","slug":"mastercard-backs-fideum-groups-vision-to-merge-crypto-with-traditional-finance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/mastercard-backs-fideum-groups-vision-to-merge-crypto-with-traditional-finance\/","title":{"rendered":"Mastercard backs Fideum Group&#8217;s vision to merge crypto with traditional finance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fintech company Fideum Group said its collaboration with traditional payment giant <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/mastercard-blockchain\/\">Mastercard<\/a> would enable it to &#8220;integrate digital assets into everyday financial activities.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with <em>CryptoSlate<\/em>, CEO Anastasija Plotnikova explained how the company's status <span class=\"s4\">as the overall winner of the Mastercard Lighthouse FINITIV 2023 Fall Program will bolster its business and help <\/span>serve its clients better.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s4\">The FINITIV <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/mclighthouse.com\/financial-aggregator-fideum-was-announced-as-the-overall-winner-of-mastercard-lighthouse-finitiv\/\"><span class=\"s5\">awards committee<\/span><\/a><span class=\"s4\"> chose Fideum because it has a clear vision of marrying the old established tenets of the traditional financial system with the new features and functions of the crypto industry while ensuring regulatory compliance.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Fideum's big dreams<\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"s4\">Plotnikova stated that the firm's success at <\/span>Mastercard's Lighthouse FINITIV Program<span class=\"s4\"> validates its idea and serves as an endorsement for the kind of products it is trying to build.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Mastercard Lighthouse FINITIV program allows Nordic and Baltic fintech to work with major financial company stakeholders, including Mastercard and tier-one Nordic banks: Danske Bank, Swedbank, Seb and OP Financial Group. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Following the win, the company dreams big and hopes that its partnership with the traditional financial giant will be the game changer in how crypto assets are integrated into the traditional financial industry.<\/p>\n<p>The emerging crypto industry has faced substantial skepticism and criticism from traditional financial experts who argue that the <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/glossary\/blockchain\/\">blockchain<\/a>-based industry is too volatile to replace the old system.<\/p>\n<p>However, <span class=\"s4\">Plotnikova pointed out that <\/span>w<span class=\"s4\">orking with firms like Mastercard and accessing its global infrastructure could change how the industry is viewed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span class=\"s4\">&#8220;Partnering with Mastercard doesn't just expand our network; it plugs us directly into a pipeline of emerging technologies and innovations in the payment and financial services sectors. This can accelerate our ability to integrate new features and capabilities into our platform,&#8221; the CEO said.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>She continued that:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;This isn't just a collaboration; it's a transformation of how digital assets are perceived and used, both by retail and institutional clients. We\u2019re setting a new standard for accessibility and security in the digital asset space.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span class=\"s4\">Plotnikova further noted that the partnership could encourage more institutional clients to work with the company, saying:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;For our clients, especially in the institutional sector, this association can be a significant factor in their decision to choose us, knowing that our solutions are aligned with the standards of a global financial leader.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span class=\"s4\">Fideum is a fintech company that builds blockchain infrastructure that integrates retail users with financial institutions. Some of its services include crypto wallet services, decentralized exchange connectivity, and smart contract automation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s4\">The company <a href=\"https:\/\/mclighthouse.com\/finitiv\/reports\/\">website<\/a> shows it has secured four global licenses and actively advises nine regulatory bodies.
