{"id":376899,"date":"2023-11-27T18:15:38","date_gmt":"2023-11-27T18:15:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/?p=376899"},"modified":"2023-11-27T23:06:40","modified_gmt":"2023-11-27T23:06:40","slug":"terras-ustc-stages-remarkable-rally-with-150-surge-in-24-hours","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/terras-ustc-stages-remarkable-rally-with-150-surge-in-24-hours\/","title":{"rendered":"Terra&#8217;s USTC stages rally with 150% surge over 24 hours"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Terra's failed algorithmic stablecoin <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/terrausd\/\">USTC<\/a> topped <em>CryptoSlate's<\/em> daily biggest <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/biggest-gainers\/\">gainers list<\/a> on Nov. 27; the token's value shot up over 150% in the last day and was up 39.9% over 24 hours at press time.<\/p>\n<p>The digital asset rose to $0.07581 during the reporting period, its highest level since May 2022, when the industry was still smarting from its <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/how-the-ust-crash-changed-the-stablecoin-landscape\/\">shock collapse.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>While it has since retraced to $<span class=\"holepunch holepunch-coin_price_usd\">0.05 as of press time, <\/span><span class=\"holepunch holepunch-coin_price_usd\">CoinMarketCap data showed that the upward price movement was met with more than 350% growth in its daily trading volume, which stood at $1.5 billion. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"holepunch holepunch-coin_price_usd\">Meanwhile, this price performance continued a month-long uptrend that has seen its value rise by 275% during the past seven days, 383% in the last 30 days, and nearly 200% in the past year, according to <em>CryptoSlate<\/em> data.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The positive sentiment also appeared to have spread to other Terra-related digital assets, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/terra-classic\/\">LUNC<\/a> \u2014 formerly Terra Luna \u2014 and Terra (<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/terra\/\">LUNA<\/a>), which were among the day's top gainers. Per the data, LUNC is up 21.86%, while LUNA jumped roughly 6%.<\/p>\n<h2>Why are Terra tokens surging?<\/h2>\n<p>Market observers have linked the Terra-tokens uptick to the new developments within its ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier today, <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/binance\/\">Binance<\/a>, the largest crypto exchange by trading volume, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.binance.com\/en\/support\/announcement\/binance-futures-will-launch-usd%E2%93%A2-m-ong-perpetual-contract-with-up-to-50x-leverage-fc5b48ff9a6f4d01abd2acff0eee0c83\">announced<\/a> its USTC perpetual contract offering leverage of up to 50x.<\/p>\n<p>The firm stated that qualified liquidity providers would benefit from the 0.005% maker fee rebates on trades involving the USTC\/USDT Perpetual Contract for 14 to 15 days. Additionally, users can trade this contract using various margin assets through the Multi-Assets Mode.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the USTC community remains actively involved in helping the failed stablecoin regain its peg. It recently proposed an on-chain <a href=\"https:\/\/commonwealth.im\/terra-classic\/discussion\/14138-safely-reenable-the-market-module-and-incrementally-repeg-ustc-to-1\">upgrade<\/a> to re-enable the market module and return the token to its $1 peg.<\/p>\n<p>Concurrently, the Terra network has experienced heightened transaction activity. The Terra Classic Foundation <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/TCF_Terra\/status\/1729160265177223332?s=20\">reported<\/a> approximately 478 million LUNC tokens paid as daily transaction fees yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the bullish momentum was fueled by the fake news that Luna Classic Labs, a community project for the Terra ecosystem, purchased $500,000 worth of the stablecoin on Nov. 26.<\/p>\n<p>However, the project has <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LunaClassicLabs\/status\/1729113028652621830\">debunked<\/a> the reports, claiming that the news was manufactured &#8220;from the workshop of sh*tcoin fraudsters and pump & dump engineers.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Terra&#8217;s failed algorithmic stablecoin USTC topped CryptoSlate&#8217;s daily biggest gainers list on Nov. 27; the token&#8217;s value shot up over 150% in the last day and was up 39.9% over 24 hours at press time.
