{"id":350114,"date":"2023-08-15T16:30:09","date_gmt":"2023-08-15T15:30:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/?p=350114"},"modified":"2023-08-15T14:58:27","modified_gmt":"2023-08-15T13:58:27","slug":"turn-drone-footage-into-3d-metaverses-as-nvidia-launches-new-ai-tool","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/turn-drone-footage-into-3d-metaverses-as-nvidia-launches-new-ai-tool\/","title":{"rendered":"Turn drone footage into 3D metaverses as Nvidia launches new AI tool"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nvidia has publicly released the code for its groundbreaking framework, Neuralangelo, to create ultra-high definition 3D models from regular video clips.<\/p>\n<p>Now <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/nvlabs\/neuralangelo\">available <\/a>on GitHub, the tool allows users to take a high-quality video clip and convert it into a 3D model, which can then be used in game development, movie effects, architecture, engineering, or even entire metaverses.<\/p>\n<p>The Nvidia research website <a href=\"https:\/\/research.nvidia.com\/labs\/dir\/neuralangelo\/\">states<\/a> the Neuralangelo framework &#8220;facilitates the creation of detailed digital twins of object-centric and large-scale real-world scenes with the aid of ubiquitous mobile devices.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Qpdw3SW54kI\">video<\/a> by Nvidia's research team explained that Neuralangelo uses multi-resolution 3D hash grids and surface rendering to make detailed 3D models. These methods improve the creation process using numerical gradients and coarse-to-fine optimization techniques, particularly helpful when modeling large, smooth areas. Angel Investor Javi Lopez praised Neuralangelo on X, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/javilopen\/status\/1691120893638950912\">quoting<\/a>\u00a0Arthur C Clarke, &#8220;Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Compared to Nvidia's previous method called Instant NeRF, Neuralangelo is a significant improvement.
