{"id":319204,"date":"2023-04-20T14:30:48","date_gmt":"2023-04-20T13:30:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/?p=319204"},"modified":"2023-04-20T14:33:08","modified_gmt":"2023-04-20T13:33:08","slug":"societe-generales-crypto-arm-to-launch-euro-pegged-stablecoin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/societe-generales-crypto-arm-to-launch-euro-pegged-stablecoin\/","title":{"rendered":"Societe Generale\u2019s crypto arm to launch Euro-pegged stablecoin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Forge \u2014 a regulated crypto arm of the French banking firm Societe Generale \u2014 is set to launch a new euro stablecoin called &#8220;CoinVertible&#8221; on the Ethereum blockchain.<\/p>\n<p>The investment bank aims to bridge the gap between traditional capital markets and the digital assets ecosystem through the launch of the euro-pegged stablecoin, according to the official <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sgforge.com\/societe-generale-forge-launches-coinvertible-the-first-institutional-stablecoin-deployed-on-a-public-blockchain\/\">announcement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to SG-Forge, the euro stablecoin \u2014 which will be traded under the ticker symbol EURCV \u2014 will be exclusive to investors who have undergone <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/french-investment-bank-ethereum-experiment-crypto-2-trillion-market\/\">Societe Generale's<\/a> Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering procedures.<\/p>\n<p>According to Jean-Marc Stenger, CEO at Forge, stablecoins are a key element to increasing trust and confidence in the native crypto ecosystem. He added that:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;This issuance is a major step in Societe Generale-FORGE's roadmap to deliver innovative solutions to its clients, either real-money institutions and corporates or entities of the crypto industry, and to facilitate the emergence of new market infrastructures based on blockchain technology.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The company also highlighted that stablecoins provide other advantages \u2014 such as enabling the implementation of fresh solutions for corporate treasury, cash management, and cash pooling activities.<\/p>\n<h2>SG-Forge's new Euro stablecoin to be listed on exchanges<\/h2>\n<p>The Euro stablecoin will be listed on exchanges and third-party platforms in the coming months.<\/p>\n<p>SG-Forge highlighted that the EUR CoinVertible adheres to significant market regulations, including CAST \u2014 an open-source framework for interoperability and securitization.<\/p>\n<p>The company emphasized that they will guarantee the complete separation of the assets used to secure the <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coinbase-lists-circles-euro-stablecoin-euroc\/\">stablecoin's<\/a> value from the issuer.
