It read: &#8220;<span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">New <\/span><span class=\"r-18u37iz\">#SAFEMOON<\/span><span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\"> app builds submitted!<\/span>&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>Still no update on the hack<\/h2>\n<p>On March 28, a smart contract vulnerability was exploited \u2014 leading to <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/safemoon-community-frustrated-over-meaningless-updates-after-9m-contract-exploit\/\">$9 million<\/a> of liquidity being drained from the protocol.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, SafeMoon and company CEO John Karony have been active on Twitter. For example, Karony praised the community's patience and support multiple times.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;<span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">The updates you are seeing today are truly just the beginning and I encourage you all to stay tuned to official SafeMoon channels for more exciting updates.<\/span>&#8220;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Similarly, SafeMoon posted a lengthy &#8220;service update&#8221; on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/safemoon\/status\/1643369741954740225\">April 4<\/a> detailing several &#8220;big updates,&#8221; including details on readjusting to normality following the attack and updates to its &#8220;<span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">SWaP and Evolve<\/span>&#8221; function.<\/p>\n<p>However, approaching three weeks after the incident, there has been no update on the precise circumstances of the attack or whether the funds can be recovered \u2014 much to the community's frustration.<\/p>\n<p>Taking to social media, the community expressed their discontent over the lack of progress made to date.<\/p>\n<h2>SafeMoon community wants answers<\/h2>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/SafeMoon\/comments\/12ngg4s\/what_do_you_think_this_means_new_app_or_just_an\/\">Reddit post<\/a>, the OP asked what &#8220;<span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">New <\/span><span class=\"r-18u37iz\">#SAFEMOON<\/span><span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\"> app builds submitted<\/span>!&#8221; means. Does this relate to a new app or changes to the native wallet?<\/p>\n<p>Some replies flipped the post toward the recent exploit, with the most upvoted comment inferring that the update was meaningless and designed to distract from the hack.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;A distraction so we can all forget about the exploited $9M.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Others ridiculed the new builds submitted as nothing more than &#8220;new fonts&#8221; and &#8220;a new icon.&#8221; One commenter summarized the general sentiment by saying the update means many things but ultimately will mean nothing.<\/p>\n<p>Another <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/SafeMoon\/comments\/12nt0zj\/do_they_think_were_idiots\/\">Reddit post<\/a>, titled &#8220;Do they think we're idiots?&#8221; tackled the talking points head-on, with the OP saying, &#8220;It's honestly unbelievable.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Commentators echoed the OP's point of view, with a common response being the loss of faith in the project.<\/p>\n<p>Peak-to-trough losses since the hack amounted to 26%.
