{"id":312536,"date":"2023-03-27T12:15:14","date_gmt":"2023-03-27T11:15:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/?p=312536"},"modified":"2023-07-21T15:07:47","modified_gmt":"2023-07-21T14:07:47","slug":"south-korea-wants-terraform-labs-co-founder-arrested","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/south-korea-wants-terraform-labs-co-founder-arrested\/","title":{"rendered":"South Korea wants Terraform labs co-founder arrested"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>South Korean prosecutors are renewing efforts to arrest Terraform Labs (TFL) co-founder Daniel Shin, Bloomberg reported on March 27.<\/p>\n<p>The Seoul Southern District Prosecutors\u2019 Office <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2023-03-27\/south-korea-prosecutors-seek-arrest-of-do-kwon-s-ex-terraform-colleague-shin#xj4y7vzkg\">confirmed<\/a> that it is trying to arrest the entrepreneur after its <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/south-korean-officials-conclude-week-long-raid-in-terra-luna-case\/\">first attempt<\/a> failed. The prosecutors accuse Shin of fraud, illegal fundraising, and violation of capital market laws.<\/p>\n<p>Previous attempts to arrest Shin in 2022 were frustrated after a South Korean court refused to grant the arrest warrant. The court held that Shin did constitute a flight risk.<\/p>\n<p>Shin's lawyers argued that he had cut ties with Terraform Labs in 2020. He also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.getnews.co.kr\/news\/articleView.html?idxno=606423\"><span class=\"s4\">claimed<\/span><\/a> that he had sold 70% of his Luna holdings before the price increase and still held some tokens even at the time of the collapse.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the renewed effort to arrest Shin is due to the confirmed <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/do-kwon-charged-in-the-us-following-confirmed-arrest-in-montenegro\/\">arrest<\/a> of Do Kwon in Montenegro while trying to fly to Dubai. The U.S. and South Korea are both seeking to extradite Kwon to answer cases of fraud and other offenses.<\/p>\n<h2>Terra tokens down<\/h2>\n<p>Terra-related tokens have seen their values fall rapidly following Do Kwon's arrest.<\/p>\n<p>According to <em>CryptoSlate<\/em> data, Terra <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/terra\/\">LUNA<\/a> is down 2% in the last 24 hours to $<span class=\"holepunch holepunch-coin_price_usd\">1.29. The token has fallen by 11% over the last seven days and by roughly 30% in the past month.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Terra Classic (<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/terra-classic\/\">LUNC<\/a>) declined 0.72% to $<span class=\"holepunch holepunch-coin_price_usd\">0.00012.
