The price of DOT at the time of writing is $6.30 \u2014 up 4.15% in the last 24 hours at press time.<\/p>\n<h2>Polkadot development activity<\/h2>\n<p>Meanwhile, developer activity on the Polkadot platform has been thriving \u2014 indicating promising prospects for its future development, adoption, and overall success. In fact, Polkadot achieved an all-time high in <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Polkadot\/status\/1582410358307684353?s=20&t=ZNgwX7oHtAAocLAXHevOCA\">development activity during Q3<\/a> of 2022, as measured by <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/electric-capital\/developer-reports\/blob\/master\/dev_report_2022.pdf\">GitHub commitments<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This impressive growth was also highlighted in the <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/electric-capital\/developer-reports\/blob\/master\/dev_report_2022.pdf\">Electric Capital Developer (ECD) report<\/a>. The ECD report revealed that Polkadot's developer community had expanded from less than 200 in 2018 to over 2,000 presently \u2014 making it the second largest community with 764 full-time developers.<\/p>\n<p>Remarkably, Polkadot achieved the milestone of 200 full-time developers in just 2.2 years \u2014 making it the fastest ecosystem to reach this target compared to the average of over 4 years.<\/p>\n<p>However, Polkadot's total number of developers only increased by 2% by the end of 2022 \u2014 indicating a slowing, tapering rate of growth.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Github&#8217;s Polkadot (DOT) developer community may be tapering, but it is still an industry leader.
