{"id":299836,"date":"2023-02-16T13:45:34","date_gmt":"2023-02-16T13:45:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/?p=299836"},"modified":"2023-02-16T18:20:17","modified_gmt":"2023-02-16T18:20:17","slug":"on-chain-dao-platform-tally-proposes-new-governance-structure-for-makerdao","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/on-chain-dao-platform-tally-proposes-new-governance-structure-for-makerdao\/","title":{"rendered":"On-chain DAO platform Tally proposes new support of Endgame Game plan for MakerDAO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The on-chain DAO platform Tally pitched the new proposal on Feb. 15 to the MakerDAO community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The proposed Tally governance structure would allow for:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Query of on-chain OpenZeppelin Governor DAO data.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Trustless treasury management and protocol upgrades.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Well-designed UI &#8212; maintenance-free, no code.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">List Governor contracts, on-chain proposals, & accounts with delegations.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>OpenZeppelin Governor<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tally uses what is known as the OpenZeppelin Governor \u2014 a front-end app that allows users to create and vote on proposals in an easy to deploy interface \u2014 which it services to a number of larger DAOs in the Ethereum ecosystem.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cAnyone who has tried to build a DAO understands that it is super tough to get a proposal over the line,\u201d said Chris Rusyniak, lead engineer behind Tally \u2014 adding that the MakerDAO community should consider allowing OpenZeppelin Contracts to delegate to SubDAOs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tally uses this to prevent what in DAOs is known as \u201cknowledge siloing,\u201d which can impede development and dampen innovation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cThe Endgame Plan is based on reorganizing the existing decentralized workforce ecosystem into new self-sustainable SubDAOs. Since each SubDAO is a DAO, it will have its own unique governance token, governance processes, workforce, and interfaces.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tally is hoping that members of MakerDAO will use its protocol to create and vote on proposals, airdrops, delegate tasks and create forms of SubDAO governance using its protocol.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>MakerDAO<\/h2>\n<p>MakerDAO is an entity that creates technology for borrowing, savings, and a stable cryptocurrency on the Ethereum blockchain. One of their offerings is DAI, a stablecoin on the same blockchain that is designed to maintain a value as close to one U.S. dollar as possible.
