However, following the collapse of FTX, <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/audits-firms-armanino-mazars-ditch-crypto-clients-in-wake-of-pushback\/\">Mazars<\/a> announced that it would stop working with crypto clients globally.<\/p>\n<p>Binance Asia-Pacific head Leon Foong told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2023-02-08\/binance-signals-full-audit-for-crypto-s-biggest-exchange-remains-some-way-off?utm_source=website&utm_medium=share&utm_campaign=mobile_web_share&sref=3REHEaVI\">Bloomberg News<\/a> on\u00a0 Feb. 8 that a full audit of the exchange's reserve may be &#8220;some way off&#8221; given that big accounting firms are still learning about the crypto sector.<\/p>\n<p>Foong said that the challenge Binance is facing in publishing its full audit report is tied to the limitations of traditional accounting firms.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Number on, it's not their core competence. And number two, obviously there is a lot of scrutiny if they get it wrong.&#8221; Foong added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He noted that traditional accounting firms lack agreed standards for challenges like price volatility that rocks the crypto sector.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, Foong said that Binance is working to separate its collateral from customer funds and publish a more comprehensive proof of reserve statement.<\/p>\n<p>Binance's first reserve report was <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/krakens-powell-says-binance-proof-of-reserve-is-pointless-without-liabilities\/\">criticized<\/a> for not including its liabilities with the assets.<\/p>\n<p>Binance CEO Changpen Zhao explained that <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cz_binance\/status\/1600596763404079124?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">auditing<\/a> liabilities was harder and said the exchange has no outstanding loans.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Binance Asia-Pacific head Leon Foong\u00a0 said a comprehensive audit of the exchange&#8217;s reserve is not possible in the near term, given the crypto learning curve for big accounting firms, Bloomberg News reported.
