{"id":291721,"date":"2023-01-24T08:00:33","date_gmt":"2023-01-24T08:00:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/?p=291721"},"modified":"2023-01-24T07:55:59","modified_gmt":"2023-01-24T07:55:59","slug":"ton-validators-to-determine-suspension-of-inactive-miner-wallets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/ton-validators-to-determine-suspension-of-inactive-miner-wallets\/","title":{"rendered":"TON validators to determine suspension of inactive miner wallets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ton Blockchain (<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/toncoin\/\">TON<\/a>) validators will vote on suspending inactive miner wallets starting Feb.21, 2023, according to a company press release.<\/p>\n<p>There are currently 195 inactive addresses in the TON network, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/ton-validators-will-vote-on-the-suspension-of-inactive-addresses-holding-a-total-of-over-1bn-toncoin-301728067.html\">press release<\/a>. Each has a balance of at least one TON, adding up to a total of 1.08 billion TON \u2014 accounting for 21.3% of the total supply.<\/p>\n<p>If the voters agree to deactivate these accounts, these tokens will be suspended for a period of at least four years, preventing the account holders from issuing any transactions.<\/p>\n<h2>Inactive addresses<\/h2>\n<p>The Toncoin distribution period started in July 2020 and ended in June 2022. Within this period, 98.55% of the total TON supply was available for mining.<\/p>\n<p>The TON Foundation describes inactive wallets as wallets that took part in Toncoin mining, but made no outgoing transactions after June 2022.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ton Blockchain (TON) validators will vote on suspending inactive miner wallets starting Feb.21, 2023, according to a company press release.
