Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) creator Yuga Labs<\/a> blacklisted addresses related to LookRare, SudoSwap, Blur and NFTX for not supporting royalties for its Sewer Pass NFT.<\/p>\n

Royalties are payments made to NFT creators each time their assets are sold on a marketplace. OpenSea mandates creator royalties of up to 10% \u2014 while others like LooksRare and SudoSwap have made the royalties model optional.<\/p>\n

Yuga Labs also published a blog post<\/a> on the matter and a spokesperson told CryptoSlate:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve always been a creative-first company, and we believe that creator royalties must be protected. You can read more about our point of view here. The Sewer Pass free claim will only be traded on platforms respecting creator royalties.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In light of the ongoing NFT royalties debate, Yuga Labs has moved to ban transactions from marketplaces that do not support royalties for NFTs like its Sewer Pass.<\/p>\n

Sewer Pass is an NFT that grants its holders access to Yuga Lab's Dookey Dash interactive skill-based game.\u00a0A closer look into the Sewer Pass contract<\/a> shows that some addresses have been blacklisted.<\/p>\n

Simon Cousaert disclosed in his Twitter thread<\/a> that some of the blacklisted addresses include exchange contracts from LookRare, SudoSwap, Blur, and NFTX.<\/p>\n

Consequently, users will not be allowed to buy the Sewer Pass NFT through LooksRare, SudoSwap, Blur, or NFTX. However, the collection can be purchased via OpenSea.<\/p>\n

As of press time, the total trading volume of the Sewer Pass collection<\/a> on OpenSea stood at 7,904 ETH \u2014 approximately $12 million \u2014 over the last 24 hours.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
