(MSTR), and Coinbase Global Inc (COIN) in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>According to the data, BTC fell by 65.38% YTD, while ARKK, MSTR, and COIN lost 67.79%, 74.64%, and 85.90% in value, respectively.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_285372\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-285372\" style=\"width: 825px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-285372\" src=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/BTCUSD_2022-12-30_23-32-07.png\" alt=\"YTD assets and currencies\" width=\"825\" height=\"378\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/BTCUSD_2022-12-30_23-32-07.png 1791w, https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/BTCUSD_2022-12-30_23-32-07-300x138.png 300w, https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/BTCUSD_2022-12-30_23-32-07-1024x470.png 1024w, https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/BTCUSD_2022-12-30_23-32-07-768x352.png 768w, https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/BTCUSD_2022-12-30_23-32-07-1536x705.png 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 825px) 100vw, 825px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-285372\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">YTD assets and currencies<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>DXY and Gold are the only assets included in this analysis that recorded an increase. Gold came out +1.25% more valuable YTD, while DXY's price increased by 7.55%.<\/p>\n<p>British Pound (GBP) and Euro (EUR) also ended the YTD period in the negatives. In mid-September, GBP <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/british-pound-drops-to-all-time-low\/\">dropped<\/a> to all-time lows against the U.S. dollar. GBP volatility soared so much afterward that BTC became a <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/bitcoin-volatility-stabilizes-as-the-pounds-soars-higher\/\">more stable<\/a> asset than the pound in October. Ethereum (<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/ethereum\/\">ETH<\/a>) also followed BTC's downward trend and recorded a 68.32% decrease YTD.<\/p>\n<p>According to a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/2022-was-the-second-worst-year-for-btc-arcane\/\">report<\/a> from Arcane Research, 2022 was the second-worst year for BTC. Leading crypto fell by 65% in 2022.
