The BNB chain, on the other hand, will help the car manufacturer settle every transaction.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Two phases of the blockchain integration<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As for the first phase, BMW will focus on harnessing the integrations to fully automate all its business activities, particularly its financial operations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Notably, the second phase will focus on initiating a new customer loyalty program using a customized Web3 app built by Coinweb. This app will determine the position of each customer in the BMW ecosystem through their reward points. As a result of the rewards, BMW customers will be able to buy its products in the near future, with transactions settled on the BNB chain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Worthy of note that this is the second time BMW will be subscribing to the potential of blockchain technology, as four years ago, it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-mining-bmw-blockchain\/uk-firm-pilots-using-blockchain-to-help-bmw-source-ethical-cobalt-idUSKBN1GH2UP\">onboarded<\/a> blockchain to track its cobalt supply.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Besides BMW, Ford also <a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ibm.com\/2019-01-16-Ford-Motor-Company-Huayou-Cobalt-IBM-LG-Chem-and-RCS-Global-Launch-Blockchain-Pilot-to-Address-Concerns-in-Strategic-Mineral-Supply-Chains\">launched<\/a> a blockchain pilot in 2019 to ensure that cobalt is ethically sourced without leveraging child labour.
