Speaking recently on <em>CryptoSlate's<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/videos\/why-you-should-keep-an-eye-on-asian-markets-for-web3-scaling-adoption-w-sora-ventures-slatecast-36\/\">SlateCast<\/a>, the Managing Partner of <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/sora-ventures\/\">Sora Ventures<\/a>, Jason Fang, stated that the Chinese crypto market will &#8220;eventually open up\u2026 when that happens, we want to be prepared for that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Sora Ventures Moving to Taipei is a part of its ongoing strategy &#8220;to hire new staff and expand on operations for a potential Fund 2.&#8221; The firm has historically made solid business decisions regarding investments, risk management, and its ability to time the market.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>It was one of the earliest venture funds in Asia dedicated to blockchain technical and digital assets. However, as an early investor in Immutable, Origin Protocol, and Casper Labs, along with 50 other web3-related businesses, it chose to exit most of its positions in late 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, it has been &#8220;<span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">holding USD for over a year now, making very conservative bets <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">on founders [Fang] personally knew and had a strong track record in the industry.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Fang spoke to CryptoSlate to give insight into the Taiwan move. Currently, Sora manages over $70M in assets as one of the &#8220;leanest blockchain funds in Asia to deploy a hybrid strategy tailored to the Web3 environment.&#8221; Fang stated:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u201cOur biggest advantage today is that we\u2019re probably one of the oldest funds in Asia that have <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">data on our fund performance on a monthly basis since ear<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">ly 2018. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">If <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">you\u2019re seeing what\u2019s going on in our industry recently, the real issue with operating funds really <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">boils to 2 things: transparency and discipline.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Fang further explained that Sora's investors are up &#8220;several multiples&#8221; and that the firm's most crucial aspect is risk management while aiming for 3-4x on current returns.
