THIS IS ALL AS I REMEMBER IT, BUT MY MEMORY MIGHT BE FAULTY IN PARTS.]<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; SBF (@SBF_FTX) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SBF_FTX\/status\/1592389472074682369?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 15, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h2>Is Sam Bankman-Fried okay?<\/h2>\n<p>On Nov. 14, SBF <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SBF_FTX\/status\/1591989554881658880\">began posting<\/a> a series of one-word, one-letter tweets, spaced several hours apart that read, &#8220;What HAPPENED.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The unusual nature of this action prompted a flood of speculation over what SBF was trying to communicate, whether there is a hidden message to &#8220;insiders,&#8221; and if his mental health is suffering due to the company's financial black hole.<\/p>\n<p>The latter point is all the more relevant considering rumors of stimulants, including amphetamines, being a key aspect of company culture at the firm.<\/p>\n<p>Internet detectives have turned up numerous clues and pieces of evidence that would support the rumor. For example, Alameda CEO Caroline Ellison posted a tweet in 2021 talking about how amphetamine enhanced her &#8220;human experience.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">nothing like regular amphetamine use to make you appreciate how dumb a lot of normal, non-medicated human experience is<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Caroline (@carolinecapital) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/carolinecapital\/status\/1379036346300305408?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 5, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Similarly, in 2019, SBF also tweeted about a regime of uppers and downers to maximize productivity yet still achieve sufficient rest.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">a) stimulants when you wake up, sleeping pills if you need them when you sleep.<br \/>b) be mindful of where your headspace is: I often nap in the office so that my mind doesn&#39;t leave work mode in between shifts.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; SBF (@SBF_FTX) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SBF_FTX\/status\/1173351344159117312?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 15, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>By ending his cryptic tweet thread with a post on not being financial or legal advice, while talking about memory loss, concern grows over SBF's mental state.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the mystery and intrigue elicited by the series of tweets, applying Occam's razor, a commenter to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/CryptoCurrency\/comments\/yv2k7p\/heres_why_sbf_is_now_acting_like_hes_mentally\/\">Reddit post<\/a> on the matter shared his view that this is an attempt to troll the community.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I don\u2019t believe [sic] hes doing this to claim mental illness in court or hack as many others are suggesting..[sic] hes deliberately doing it to troll people&#8230;this clearly shows he has no remorse&#8230;&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>FTX scandal not done<\/h2>\n<p>The FTX group filed for <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/ftx-files-for-bankruptcy-as-sam-bankman-fried-resigns-as-ceo\/\">Chapter 11 bankruptcy<\/a> on Nov. 11 with SBF resigning his position as CEO at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>The corporate structure includes over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pymnts.com\/cryptocurrency\/2022\/more-than-130-ftx-group-companies-file-bankruptcy\/\">130 companies<\/a>, and with numerous venture investments across the industry, the likelihood of further knock-on effects is high.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/technology\/2022\/nov\/14\/failure-of-ftx-crypto-exchange-will-have-huge-implications-mps-hear\">Ian Taylor<\/a>, executive director of the industry group Crypto UK, said that based on his information the majority of lost funds belong to institutional investors.<\/p>\n<p>It has already come out that the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan had invested <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/technology\/ontario-pension-says-any-loss-ftx-investment-have-limited-impact-2022-11-10\/\">$95 million<\/a> in the defunct exchange.
