The statement was about a faulty PancakeSwap (<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/pancakeswap\/\">CAKE<\/a>) pool, and the unusual activity was initiated to drain liquidity out of the pool.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">1\/n pGALA on BSC Notice: A misconfiguration of the <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Tpj4G7IkUe\">https:\/\/t.co\/Tpj4G7IkUe<\/a> bridge necessitated the redeployment of pGALA. We\u2019re working directly w\/the Gala team and w\/ exchanges to provide the necessary pGALA balances to restore functionality of pGALA deposits & withdrawals.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; pNetwork \ud83e\udd9c (@pNetworkDeFi) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/pNetworkDeFi\/status\/1588266897061031936?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 3, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The pNetwork team revealed that the issue was caused by the &#8220;misconfiguration of the p.Network bridge.&#8221; However, GALA tokens on Ethereum (<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/ethereum\/\">ETH<\/a>) and the underlying bridge collateral remain safe.<\/p>\n<p>The GALA bridge has been temporarily suspended, and a new pool will be created. According to the team, new pGALA tokens will be sent to restore every address to its earlier position.<\/p>\n<p>However, after the announcement, those who bought pGALA on PancakeSwap risk losing everything as the newly purchased pGALA are not redeemable.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the fear of an exploit sent the GALA token down by over 20% to reach as low as $0.0293. The play-to-earn token has begun recovering and is now trading for $0.035, according to CryptoSlate data.<\/p>\n<h2>Arbitrage traders profit<\/h2>\n<p>Arbitrage traders took advantage of the white hat attack on the Gala token in the PancakeSwap pool, netting one trader $6.5 million.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">2\/ Then he transferred 21.1M <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24GALA&src=ctag&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$GALA<\/a> ($674,701) to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Binance?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Binance<\/a> before Binance closed deposits and withdrawals, selling at about $0.032.<\/p>\n<p>And transferred 385.8M <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24GALA&src=ctag&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$GALA<\/a> ($5.79M) to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Huobi?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Huobi<\/a>, selling at about $0.015.<\/p>\n<p>He made a total profit of $6.5M!<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/jz2vGqtmEF\">https:\/\/t.co\/jz2vGqtmEF<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/nxV2G6kc1A\">pic.twitter.com\/nxV2G6kc1A<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Lookonchain (@lookonchain) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/lookonchain\/status\/1588412428156825602?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 4, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>According to a Twitter thread from Lookonchain, arbitrage traders found and started buying the dumped tokens from PancakeSwap, moved the coins to Huobi, and began to sell immediately. The on-chain sleuth <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/lookonchain\/status\/1588352240888053760?s=20&t=RHQ50bk0XdzJ7Ei4hyWT4Q\">continued<\/a> that the GALA price on Huobi tanked 99% to $0.0003 from $0.04.<\/p>\n<p>The online detective said that GALA's <span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">24-hour trading volume on Huobi was 25.65 billion tokens worth $134.5M, and the average trading price was $0.005247. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">The centralized exchange has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.huobi.com\/support\/en-us\/detail\/84921856563770\">forced<\/a> to temporarily delist the GALA token because of the &#8220;material and uncontrollable risks arising from the major accident.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Gala Games community suffered a scare late Nov. 3 after a wallet printed over $1 billion worth of GALA tokens, which tanked the asset&#8217;s value by nearly 30%.
