This development will allow Partior to broaden its currency offerings beyond the first slate of eight global currencies \u2013 USD, SGD, GBP, EUR, AUD, JPY, CNH, and HKD, by 2023.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The investment also guarantees Standard Chartered's role as the first Euro settlement bank for Partior. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Philip Panaino, Global Head of Cash, Transaction Banking at Standard Chartered, shares his viewpoint about the recent investment:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cOur investment in Partior will allow us to deliver the speed, efficiency, and visibility of domestic settlement systems to cross-border transactions, simplifying and improving the experience for our clients.&#8221;<\/span><\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><b>Standard Chartered and JP Morgan's embracement of cryptocurrency<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In May 2019, JP Morgan rolled out the first US bank-backed cryptocurrency, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2019\/02\/13\/jp-morgan-is-rolling-out-the-first-us-bank-backed-cryptocurrency-to-transform-payments--.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">JPM Coin<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, to transform the payments business. Additionally, as part of the Monetary Authority of Singapore's Project Guardian, the firm has <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/jpmorgan-executes-first-defi-transaction-on-polygon\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">executed<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the first live trade on the public blockchain, Polygon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Around April, Standard Chartered partnered with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/standard-chartered-joins-other-financial-institutions-in-the-metaverse\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sandbox<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to create a metaverse experience for its customers. As revealed, Standard Chartered intended to bring local sports and art communities into the metaverse.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additionally, SC Ventures, a Standard Chartered division specializing in innovations and ventures, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/standard-chartered-unit-to-offer-crypto-trading-services-in-uk-and-europe\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">announced<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in July that it would launch a crypto brokerage and exchange platform for institutions in the UK and Europe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Interestingly, however, JPMorgan Chase President and COO Daniel Pinto and Standard Chartered CEO Bill Winters <a href=\"https:\/\/forkast.news\/headlines\/jp-morgan-standard-chartered-execs-bitcoin\/\">disagreed<\/a> about the significance of Bitcoin and the wider crypto industry at Hong Kong Fintech Week on Monday.
