As of press time, the <a href=\"https:\/\/xrpscan.com\/amendment\/32A122F1352A4C7B3A6D790362CC34749C5E57FCE896377BFDC6CCD14F6CD627\">votes<\/a> had a 91.43% consensus.<\/p>\n<p>The XLS-20 is the proposal for creating native NFTs on the XRP Ledger. According to Ripple, the proposal seeks to make the creation of NFTs efficient on XRPL. At the same time, the proposal ensures that these new digital assets do not negatively affect the ledger's performance.<\/p>\n<p>Ripple's General Manager Monica Long <a href=\"https:\/\/ripple.com\/insights\/the-ripple-drop-xls-20-and-sustainability-through-nfts\/\">said<\/a> the proposal would allow developers to &#8220;create NFTs without the additional security risks and complexities\u2014and therefore room for error\u2014that come with smart contracts since XRPL does not require them to run to accomplish many tasks.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, XRPL Labs lead developer Wietse Wind had previously <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/ripples-xrpl-nft-plan-on-hold-as-developer-finds-fault-in-proposal\/\">withdrawn<\/a> his support for the proposal because a bug was discovered.<\/p>\n<h2>Ripple signs second-wave of NFT creators<\/h2>\n<p>Ripple has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20221018005201\/en\/Ripple-Signs-Second-Wave-of-Creators-Bringing-Entertainment-and-Media-NFT-Projects-to-the-XRP-Ledger\">announced<\/a> the second wave of creators receiving funding from its $250 million Creators Fund for their web3 and NFT projects.<\/p>\n<p>According to the press statement, some of the creators who received the funding included 9Level9, Anifie, Capital Block, NFT Master, etc. The firm stated that the selected projects would leverage XRPL to bring life to this sector within its ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>RippleX VP of Growth Markus Infanger said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Web3 technology continues to transform the creator economy by giving power back to the creators.
