We're proud to back Matt and the rest of the team who are making this vision a reality.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Other investors in the Series A round include Draper Associates, Boost VC, Mayfield, Gaingeles, Alchemy Ventures, Redbeard Ventures, and Spartan Group.<\/p>\n<p>Founder of Unstoppable Domains Matthew Gould <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/unstoppable-domains-raises-65-million-at-1-billion-valuation-to-turn-nfts-into-your-web3-digital-identity-301593806.html\">noted<\/a> that for a long while, people\u2019s digital identities have been controlled by large corporations, but as the digital economy becomes integrated into everyday living, it is now imperative for people to own their identity on the internet, which is why they are building Unstoppable Domains.<\/p>\n<p>Goud went on to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/mariagraciasantillanalinares\/2022\/07\/27\/registrar-unstoppable-domains-raises-65-million-to-make-website-domains-into-nfts\/?sh=66096dc1b137\">say:<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The $1 billion valuation highlights the importance of infrastructure behind decentralized, digital identities, separating \u201cthe identity component from the finance component,\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>With the latest funding, Unstoppable Domains is looking to expand its team, grow new partnerships, and allow more businesses and individuals to build their Web3 identity on the platform.<\/p>\n<h2>Unstoppable Domains still growing<\/h2>\n<p>The domain naming platform was founded in 2018 to allow users to create NFT domains with full control and ownership of their digital identities.<\/p>\n<p>Domain names issued by the platform are used to replace lengthy crypto wallet addresses and log into supported Web3 applications. Users can register for top-level domains (TLD) like .crypto, .coin, .bitcoin, .x, .888, .nft and .dao.<\/p>\n<p>So far, they have registered over 1.4 million domains, including 300,000 NFT domains and 32 wallets with the .Wallet Alliance.<\/p>\n<p>To meet the demand of its 240,000 customers, Unstoppable Domains has secured strategic partnerships with Web3 companies like Polygon, Blockchain.com, MoonPay. A\u00a0 report by <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2022\/07\/27\/unstoppable-domains-pantera-led-65-million-round-1-billion-valuation-web3-nft-domain\/\">Fortune,<\/a> reveals it has generated more than $80 million in sales since launching its naming service in September of 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Expressing faith in the future for the company, Gould in an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2022\/07\/27\/unstoppable-domains-pantera-led-65-million-round-1-billion-valuation-web3-nft-domain\/\">Fortune<\/a>, expressed his thought:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201c\u2026one billion people will have at least one NFT domain in five years, and that most people will own about five.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Web3 domain names are here to stay<\/h2>\n<p>In the first week of July, 108,000 ENS domains were <a href=\"https:\/\/datastudio.google.com\/u\/0\/reporting\/8785928a-71d5-4b17-9fea-fe1c937b064f\/page\/p_mj57qadkuc?s=j1wlK90ZIbA\">registered<\/a>, indicating a 216% increase from the previous month while generating $684,000 in sales. The spike could be due to the ENS address 000.eth being bought for a record-breaking 300 ETH. Domain flipping could be a major trend as web3 domain adoption increases.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Unstoppable Domains (UD) has recently <a href=\"https:\/\/domainnamewire.com\/2022\/07\/20\/unstoppable-domains-threatens-rival-handshake-domain-name\/\">threatened<\/a> to sue its competitor Gateway.io for running a .wallet domain in the competing <a href=\"https:\/\/handshake.org\/\">Handshake<\/a> system.
