However, the exchange's BTC holding began to decline as competition in the space began to heat up in recent times.<\/p>\n<p>Coinglass <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coinglass.com\/Balance\">data<\/a> as of July 18 showed that Coinbase still had the highest Bitcoin holdings with over 600,000 units while Binance had over 500,000.<\/p>\n<p>However, the data showed that Coinbase had recorded 10,888 outflows in the last seven days, while Binance recorded almost 20,000 inflows within the same period.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Sorry but this tweet is just grossly inaccurate. How does one even pretend to know how much BTC an exchange has?<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Nick de Bontin (@Ndebontin) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Ndebontin\/status\/1549030820098228224?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 18, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>A Coinbase employee, Nick de Bontin, also refuted the Glassnode data saying it was &#8220;probably looking at hot wallets and known tagged addresses&#8221; when &#8220;the vast majority of exchange funds are in cold storage and untagged addresses.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It is unclear whether Glassnode accounted for the units in cold storage and untagged addresses.<\/p>\n<h2>Coinbase users panick<\/h2>\n<p>Coinbase users on Reddit are panicking as a look at the exchange subReddit group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/CoinBase\/comments\/w1kyp4\/connection_trouble_were_working_on_a_fix_please\/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf\">showed<\/a> that some users are faced with &#8220;connection issues.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Everything seems fine at <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24COIN&src=ctag&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$COIN<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/XBWgiE7SvV\">pic.twitter.com\/XBWgiE7SvV<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Markets & Mayhem (@Mayhem4Markets) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Mayhem4Markets\/status\/1548849515184144386?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 18, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>A post from BigMan479 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/CoinBase\/comments\/w1wp9m\/coinbase_not_working\/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf\">asked<\/a> the community if &#8220;Coinbase (was) not working,&#8221; and the responses showed that some other members were also faced with the same issue despite trying to use the exchange via its mobile application and official website.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/coinbase?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Coinbase<\/a> please what is the update on client withdrawal challenges on your platform?<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Lboj (@LanreJoseph10) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LanreJoseph10\/status\/1549037955745869829?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 18, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Another user who had difficulty withdrawing his funds got a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/CoinBase\/comments\/w20qlp\/how_do_i_get_hold_of_coinbase\/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf\">response<\/a> from a Coinbase mod that the exchange &#8220;is aware of this issue and is working on getting\u00a0everything back to normal as soon as possible.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The majority of responses to these posts alluded that the issue was caused by <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/248m-stablecoins-flow-out-of-coinbase-as-community-refutes-exchange-liquidity-issues\/\">Coinbase being &#8220;insolvent,&#8221;<\/a> while others said they believed the exchange was working fine.<\/p>\n<p>A look at Coinbase's operational status as of 17:11 UTC <a href=\"https:\/\/status.coinbase.com\">showed<\/a> that the exchange had had an incident-free day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Popular crypto analyst Will Clemente, citing Glassnode data, revealed that Binance now holds more Bitcoin (BTC) units than its rival Coinbase.
