{"id":245700,"date":"2022-06-28T23:00:59","date_gmt":"2022-06-28T22:00:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/?p=245700"},"modified":"2022-06-29T00:18:18","modified_gmt":"2022-06-28T23:18:18","slug":"finally-axie-infinitys-ronin-bridge-reopens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/finally-axie-infinitys-ronin-bridge-reopens\/","title":{"rendered":"Finally, Axie Infinity\u2019s Ronin Bridge reopens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After being offline for almost three months, Axie Infinity announced that Ronin Bridge is going live again with more security.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The Ronin Bridge is open!<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 All user funds are fully backed 1:1 by the new bridge.<br \/>\u2022 The bridge has undergone an internal audit and two external audits.<br \/>\u2022 We are still on track to release Land Staking this week.<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udcdd : <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/QX9hY1xKYX\">https:\/\/t.co\/QX9hY1xKYX<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Axie Infinity\ud83e\udd87\ud83d\udd0a (@AxieInfinity) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AxieInfinity\/status\/1541764201735241735?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 28, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The blockchain gaming platform had lost <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/axie-infinity-developers-ronin-network-loses-615-million-to-hackers\/\">over $600 million<\/a> of users' funds through the Ronin Bridge exploit, said that;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>All user funds are fully backed 1:1 by the new bridge<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The new Ronin Bridge underwent three audits. One audit was carried out internally and two external audits before its reopening. Certik and Verichain conducted the two external audits.<\/p>\n<h2>Axie Infinity adds more security layers<\/h2>\n<p>The new Bridge <a href=\"https:\/\/roninblockchain.substack.com\/p\/the-ronin-bridge-is-open-\">includes<\/a> a circuit breaker system for extra security. This design is a contingency plan that will halt large suspicious withdrawals through the Bridge.<\/p>\n<p>Before anyone can withdraw $1 million, they will need 90% of the validator's signature. A withdrawal of $10 million and above will require 90% of the validator's signature and human review.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the smart contract software of the Bridge has been updated for validators to set a daily withdrawal limit from the Bridge. It has been initially set at $50 million, but it will be possible for an administrator to reset it.<\/p>\n<p>The blog post also warned that users should not send funds straight to the Ronin Bridge Contract address as that will permanently lose such funds. Instead, users should only access the Bridge for deposits and withdrawals through the user interface.<\/p>\n<h2>Begins fund disbursement<\/h2>\n<p>Axie Infinity explained the developments since the exploit and how users have been reimbursed.<\/p>\n<p>Of the 173,600 <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/ethereum\/\">ETH<\/a> and 25.5M <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/usd-coin\/\">USDC<\/a> stolen from the Bridge, 56,000 wETH belonged to Axie Infinity DAO. This will remain undercollateralized as the developers work with law enforcement to recover the funds.<\/p>\n<p>But all the liabilities, which amount to 71,600 ETH and 25.5M USDC, have now been fully returned to the network, &#8220;fully backed 1:1 by ETH and USDC on Ethereum.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Ronin Bridge connects the Ronin sidechain to Ethereum (<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/ethereum\/\">ETH<\/a>) and is key for the operations of the Axie Infinity ecosystem. With its reopening, Axie Infinity developers will hope to turn around the <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/axie-infinity-has-been-losing-gamers-before-hack\/\">decline in its daily users<\/a> and earn back users' trust.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After being offline for almost three months, Axie Infinity announced that Ronin Bridge is going live again with more security.
