The model consists of a Citizen\u2019s House and a Token House that form the Optimism Collective together.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Token House will be populated by users who will be the beneficiary of the first OP airdrop. It will be a significant player in the governance as Token House users will have the ability to vote on the project's direction.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the other hand, the Citizens house will come later in 2022 and will be saddled with distributing \u201cretroactive public goods funding, generated from the revenue collected by the network.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Citizen House members will be conferred with \u201cCitizenship\u201d via a \u201csoulbound non-transferrable NFT.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The uniqueness of this model has generated a lot of positive reactions within the crypto community, with Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin tweeting about it.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Possibly the biggest attempt at non-token-holder-centric DAO governance so far. Excited to see where this goes.<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udc40 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/9vreC7QsXa\">https:\/\/t.co\/9vreC7QsXa<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; vitalik.eth (@VitalikButerin) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VitalikButerin\/status\/1519012381581463552?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 26, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h2><b>Optimism sets up new foundation<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the launch of its new token, the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/concepts-scaling-solutions-and-representative-projects-of-layer-2-ecosystem\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">layer2<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> scaling solution has also established the Optimism Foundation, which would initially be responsible for the initial operations of the Collective.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to its press statement, the foundation is the first phase of a process that looks to spread power through the Optimism Ecosystem.
