Thus, the Coinbase logo and its branding would appear during televised games for the two leagues and the crypto exchange would also be a partner of the NBA G League, NBA 2k League, and USA Basketball.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThe deal, which marks the first cryptocurrency platform partnership for each league, will consist of unique content, innovations, activations, and experiences from Coinbase to educate fans on the increasing advancements happening across the cryptoeconomy,\u201d the press statement reads in part.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Speaking on the partnership, Kate Rouch, the Chief Marketing Officer of Coinbase, stated that \u201cthe freedom to participate and benefit from the things you believe in is at the heart of Coinbase\u2019s mission. Nobody believes this more than NBA and WNBA fans.\u00a0 We\u2019re proud to become the Leagues\u2019 official cryptocurrency partner.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rouch continued that \u201cas part of the partnership, we will create interactive experiences to engage with the NBA and WNBA\u2019s incredible community and athletes around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, an NBA top executive, Kerry Tatlock,\u00a0 described <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coinbase-prepares-to-launch-a-peer-to-peer-marketplace-for-nfts\/\">Coinbase<\/a> as a \u201cnatural fit\u201d for the league while adding that they \u201clook forward to collaborating with Coinbase to provide fans with new ways to engage with the league and each other, while also enhancing the experience for fans who are already Coinbase users.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Sport and crypto partnerships are growing<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">While NBA teams like <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/crypto-exchange-ftx-bags-miami-heat-stadium-rights-for-135-million\/\">Miami Heat<\/a> have signed different crypto-related sponsored deals, this would be the first time that the leagues (NBA and WNBA) are partnering with a crypto-related platform.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/10\/19\/nba-lands-first-cryptocurrency-sponsorship-with-coinbase.html\">CNBC<\/a>, \u201csports leagues have embraced cryptocurrency sponsorships this year, as its helping with a V-shape recovery for leagues following pandemic losses. NBA teams, Formula 1, Major League Baseball, and even New York-based Drone Racing League have landed crypto sponsorships.
