{"id":197032,"date":"2021-08-18T08:00:15","date_gmt":"2021-08-18T07:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/?p=197032"},"modified":"2021-08-17T19:18:27","modified_gmt":"2021-08-17T18:18:27","slug":"ethereum-eth-cardano-ada-are-crowd-favorite-cryptos-in-singapore","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/ethereum-eth-cardano-ada-are-crowd-favorite-cryptos-in-singapore\/","title":{"rendered":"Ethereum (ETH), Cardano (ADA) are crowd favorite cryptos in Singapore"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/ethereum\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ethereum<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Bitcoin, and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/news\/cardano\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cardano<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are the most invested in cryptocurrencies in Singapore, a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gemini.com\/state-of-sg-crypto\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">recent survey<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by crypto exchange Gemini on the crypto investing behavior among adults in Singapore found.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The survey sampled responses from over 4,300 adults, of which 67% held crypto, 79% of crypto holders being men, and 80.2% of such holders being under the age of 34. \u201cThe \u201caverage\u201d crypto holder is likely to be a 29-year-old male with an average annual household income of about $51,968 a year,\u201d the report noted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Just 1 in 5 crypto holders were women, 12% of all holders earned between $55,000 to $75,000, and a tiny 0.2% of holders were above the age of 65.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Ethereum, Cardano emerge among top holdings<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ethereum, the world\u2019s most-used blockchain, was the premier investment of choice for <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/places\/singapore\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Singapore\u2019s<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> crypto holders, with 78% of all holders owning the asset. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/bitcoin\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bitcoin<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the world\u2019s largest crypto, followed by a 69% adoption among buyers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cardano, the world\u2019s third largest crypto, came third, making up 40% of all holder wallets in Singapore. ADA token stormed into the top three largest cryptocurrencies by market cap earlier this week, reaching as high as $2.20 on the back of positive fundamental developments.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other major holdings were Binance Coin (BNB; 31%), Ripple (XRP; 25%), Tether (USDT; 25%), Polkadot (DOT; 22%), and Chainlink (LINK; 18%). As such, the survey found females were more likely to hold or trade XRP and DOT more than males.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meanwhile, out of 2,862 people who invested in crypto, two-thirds of them said they invested <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">more<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> into crypto because of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. \u201cThe Covid-19 pandemic have spurred more Singaporeans to invest in crypto,\u201d the report read, adding:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><b>\u201cOne possibility for this could be that investors are getting increasingly educated on crypto, accelerated by the rise of the digital economy during the pandemic.
