{"id":192924,"date":"2021-06-16T05:00:53","date_gmt":"2021-06-16T04:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/?p=192924"},"modified":"2021-06-15T18:05:58","modified_gmt":"2021-06-15T17:05:58","slug":"input-output-launches-alonzoblue-2-0-for-cardano-testnet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/input-output-launches-alonzoblue-2-0-for-cardano-testnet\/","title":{"rendered":"Input Output launches AlonzoBlue 2.0 for Cardano testnet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/companies\/input-output-iohk\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Input Output<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a blockchain infrastructure research and engineering company behind the development of the proof-of-stake <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/coins\/cardano\/\">Cardano<\/a> <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">platform, launched a new version of the Cardano node, AlonzoBlue 2.0 to the testnet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The \u2018Alonzo\u2019 hard fork is a long-awaited<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> breakthrough for the platform as it will allow the implementation of smart contracts in Cardano, enabling the deployment of numerous <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/cryptos\/defi\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DeFi<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> applications.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>On the way to mainnet deployment<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first alpha testnet, Alonzo Blue, will be initially supported by a small group of stake pool operators, partners, and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/developers.cardano.org\/en\/plutus-pioneer-program\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plutus Pioneers<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plutus Pioneers were recruited by the Cardano developers to train in Plutus, a smart contract Cardano-programmed speech.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alonzo Blue\u2019s SPOs were given a day for updating their nodes before running the first test scripts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the following months, the program will expand by including a greater number of users as the new testnet functionality and features get integrated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The latest release is a milestone for the Alonzo platform rollout plan and an impatiently awaited one as it includes an update of the Command Line Interface (CLI) and provides the base for a variety of smart contract applications.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Smart Txs enable a user to associate Tx meta-data on-chain and store executable contract data. This opens up the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/SmartContracts?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#SmartContracts<\/a> era on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Cardano?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Cardano<\/a> for our first SPOs and Pioneers to start sending & testing simple smart transactions (Tx) to the Ledger via the Node <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Alonzo?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Alonzo<\/a><\/p>\n<p>3\/4<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Input Output (@InputOutputHK) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/InputOutputHK\/status\/1404534601918394373?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 14, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Survival of the fittest\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The full launch of Alonzo is expected to spur the development of new decentralized applications (dApps) and decentralized finance protocols.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The complete implementation of the Alonzo will take several more months and the mainnet update is set to launch on the Cardano blockchain in late July or early August as the rollout continues.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The introduction is planned in three stages, blue, white, and purple, with each phase introducing new features.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The most important thing for Cardano is already here, Alonzo can create simple smart contracts and pass them to the ledger, or?
