The company went public in a landmark move last month but has in no way embraced the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">traditional way<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of running a business.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cCoinbase is committed to being remote first. We announced we no longer have an HQ and as a next step, we\u2019re closing our SF office (our former HQ) in 2022,\u201d the firm said, adding it had committed to having no HQ to show its \u201cdecentralized workforce that no one location is important than the another.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Coinbase is committed to being remote first. We announced we no longer have an HQ and as a next step, we\u2019re closing our SF office (our former HQ) in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Coinbase News (@CoinbaseNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CoinbaseNews\/status\/1390065013071781889?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 5, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The move is not the end of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">all<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Coinbase offices, as smaller\/other offices will continue to operate and function as normal.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cClosing our SF office is an important step in ensuring no office becomes an unofficial HQ and will mean career outcomes are based on capability and output rather than location,\u201d explained Coinbase, adding:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><b>\u201cInstead, we will offer a network of smaller offices for our employees to work from if they choose to.\u201d<\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The \u2018remote first\u2019 move is another step in Coinbase\u2019s mission-driven vision.
