This means that each of them is unique and scarce\u2014qualities that are highly valued by collectors. NFTs can contain all kinds of digital data such as artworks, music, photographs, videos, and so on\u2014or even combinations of them.<\/p>\n<h2>$69 million for an NFT<\/h2>\n<p>Yesterday, Musk decided to join the ranks of NFT traders by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1371549960030842893\">announcing<\/a> that he will be \u201cselling this song about NFTs as an NFT.\u201d And so an\u00a0auction for Musk\u2019s \u201ctweet-as-NFT\u201d commenced on <a href=\"https:\/\/v.cent.co\/tweet\/1371549960030842893\">Valuables by CENT<\/a>, the same marketplace where Jack Dorsey is currently <a href=\"https:\/\/v.cent.co\/tweet\/20\">auctioning off his first tweet<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after, top-grossing crypto artist Mike Winkelmann, aka Beeple, jokingly offered Musk $69 million for his NFT. And he could actually put his money where his mouth was\u2014especially after his NFT artwork \u201cEVERYDAYS: THE FIRST 5000 DAYS\u201d has been <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptoslate.com\/beeple-nft-sold-for-69-million-is-the-fourth-most-expensive-artwork-sold-by-a-living-artist\/\">sold for $69.3 million on Christie\u2019s auction<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">420M Doge<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Elon Musk (@elonmusk) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1371600053039722500?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 15, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>In his usual \u201cmemeful\u201d manner, Musk made a counter-offer of 420 million Dogecoin\u2014which was worth $24 million at the time.
